Mid day snack

Popped into the location after exploring the Boston Commons on a chilly afternoon. Very cozy establishment. If I lived in this area locally, I could totally see myself bringing a laptop and working while noshing on what looks to be a tasty menu of items or drinking some Tea. Had the falafel... read more

Boston can be an expensive place to dine, but there are low budget options with decent food. I was looking for some breakfast that wasn't the expensive hotel type, or captive audience at a convention center that was close to me. Black Seed Cafe fit the bill, it is off the Boston Commons and I would say probably a place... More

The place seems more of a grab and go kind of place but there are a few small tables if you want to sit for a quick meal and keep it moving. Overall I found it to be a good value, cost to food ratio but was not what I was expecting. Was drawn into the place by the "Chicken... More

Middle Eastern cafe (halal) right in the heart of Boston. Humble fast food joint, crowded (good business!) and not too flashy, nice low prices, but wonderful shwarma, kebab and hot beverages perfect for winter! Fast service too.

A basic eatery in the heart of Boston, we had a basic breakfast which was fresh and hot - just a shame the decor was a little dated and in need of a refresh in such a great location in the city. Plenty of regular trade, most of which were take outs which we would recommend rather than eating in... More

Black Seed is right on Tremont Street, next to Park Station, a busy, crowded area. But when I had lunch there today there was seating and things were comfortable, the staff friendly. (It's soooo nice to be someplace where you business doesn't seem like and imposition -- and these people seemed genuinely caring.) I had tilapia on rice with a... More

Went for breakfast and lunch. Food was very good and the owners very hospitable. True it is a small locale with limited seating/tables, but the food and price make up for that. Will definitively go breakfast again tomorrow.

I attend the church next door, so this is a frequent stop on Sundays. Whether I just want a quick bagel to go or decide to stay and grab a full breakfast, the food is always tasty, freshly cooked and I love that they serve Halal meats.mi can rarely get turkey bacon at localcafe joints. The chicken kebab with rice... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
