Cool place with lots of character

We visited for after dinner drinks, and we immediately liked the place. the décor is kitschy, but cool. The bar had a retro feel. The bartenders were nice and courteous. I was surprised that they had my favorite Spanish Gin available! We kept an eye for plates coming out, and they all looked... read more

if you like tapas you won't be disappointed. The food was all very tasty and brought out in a timely fashion to give us enough time to enjoy each dish.

I came to Estragon with very high expectations. The menu looks more authentic than the other tapas places nearby, so I was excited to try something different. Sadly, I was not overly impressed. I would recommend Barcelona and Toro over Estragon any day. The atmosphere itself was a little odd. We went on a Saturday night at 7pm. I made... More

On our second night in Boston we were looking forward to enjoying a variety of small bites for dinner. My wife and I dine like that fairly often. You get to sample so many different flavors. Estragon has a happy hour from 5:30 to 7:00 Mon- Thurs. The menu is divided into 3 prices $1, $3 and $5 tapas. From... More

So glad we came. Loved the generous and savory pintxos, crispy paprika chickpeas, sautéed mushrooms, grilled octopi, skewered pork, and garlic shrimp. Wonderful selection of Spanish wines. Cushy seating and eclectic decor.

This cozy and relaxed spot serves up authentic tapas with a broad selection of items from the north of Spain, particularly the renowned 'pinxtos' of the Basque country. Great selection of vegetarian, and even vegan items, so it is a great place to bring a mixed group of friends. Be sure and request that your wine is poured from a... More

We visited this restaurant yesterday with 3 relatives that are from New Hampshire. We actually had planned to visit Toro but the wait on a Wednesday night was passed an hour long. So Siri recommended a few places walking distance and we ended up in this place. Cool decor rococo style, lots of options. We had many of the tapas... More

I have been several times to this restaurant. It only has improved. Tapas are very close to the original Spanish version that you ay find in any Spanish bar. You are in good hands.

Happy to find they carry Allagash White in addition to their great cocktail menu (the Moor's Last Sigh is heavenly). Ordered the shishito peppers - wonderful smoke and sea salt. Also had a fried potato, egg and basque sausage dish that was perfectly cooked (the potatoes were almost homemade potato chips they were so nice and crispy) and a great... More

From start to finish, a great experience. Arrived at 7:30 for an 8PM reservation, but the hostess was able to accommodate us. Decent drink list with a wide selections of cocktails, wines, & beers. Nice atmosphere to the restaurant with a noise level that was not over the top so you could have a decent conversation. All of the food... More

Staying in South End

Neighborhood Profile
South End
Stroll down the beautiful brownstone lined streets while capturing views of Boston’s tallest buildings from a distance. Some of Boston’s best restaurants are scattered around this neighborhood. There are many gems to be found, from jazz clubs to classy bars and restaurants. It is also home to art galleries, interesting boutiques, artsy stores and SOWA open market during the summer months. The South End is a true find in the city, with a more residential feeling than Back Bay.
