Good Asian Food

Looking for something other than traditional steak or seafood restaurants in Boston and found this little restaurant kind of tucked away in large building. The food is good and the service was great as we came in close to closing time, but they still accommodated us.

Having lived in China for more than ten years, I can say that this is probably the best Chinese restaurant I have been to outside of China. Although the name would suggest that dumplings are their speciality, and they are nice, it's actually the dishes that are really great. Any of the reviewers criticising the food clearly don't really understand... More

I read some good review, and I decided to try this place during my business trip. I ordered Mini Juicy Dumplings with Pork, Sandong Style Pan Fried Dumplings with Pork and Shrimp, Wonton Soup, and vegetable Buns. I know lots of food, but I had to try to give some reviews. I was disappointed. They were ok but not sure... More

Had lunch here on a Saturday afternoon. The place is tiny and was getting absolutely slammed, a busy little place with every chair filled and a line out the door. But we were waited on quickly (a pot of tea made it to our table before we even got our coats off). The menu is extensive (hundreds of items and... More

Ate there for lunch and had dumplings, natch. They were hand made I'm sure, and the "juicy" (some call it soupy) dumplings were delicious as were the other two. We had 3 orders of dumplings, the salt and pepper calamari, which you'd love if you wanted to pretend you ordered salty fried chicken. That wasn't so good in our opinion,... More

These place has people queuing out the door waiting to get a seat. We were lucky and only waited for about 10 minutes. The service is quick albeit a little haphazard. All the tables are so close together private or romantic conversations definitely go out the window. That said the food is great and the atmosphere is buzzy. It's far... More

Well it was Christmas day and there wasn't much else open except Boston's Chinatown so we decided to take our chances and go for lunch. I read a thousand reviews of different places and this one seemed liked the go-to for Chinese food. You might want to take someone who's fluent in Chinese because it was a little difficult when... We were there on a Saturday night. The waitress shouted at my girlfriend after she said they brought the wrong dish. The dumplings were not properly cooked; other food tasted ok, not great. Generally rubbish service. We therefore decided not to give 15% tip, the waitress shouted at me that I need to give 15% (which they did not deserve).... More

I was in town for business and took the GDH recommendation from a local. It's small. It's always busy. It's a no frills kind of place. BUT, it's so tasty! I had scallion pancakes and ma po tofu. The scallion pancakes were perfection! The ma po tofu was tasty yet pretty spicy; however, having the pancakes to cool the heat... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
A small area rich in Chinese cultural influences, visit Boston’s Chinatown for some great Asian cuisine and small, authentic bakeries. Enter through the iconic Chinatown gate and stroll down Beach, Tyler, and Kneeland streets to explore the compact area. Rest your feet from walking and grab a bite at one of the many restaurants around Chinatown. From traditional Chinese to Vietnamese to Malaysian, there is a wide range of Asian food available, within easy access of South Station. At night, Chinatown becomes a late night food destination after the bars close.
