Pathetically slow service

We were in China town and we wanted exceptional Chinese food. The food was great but the service is terribly slow. The hot and sour soup is brilliant and so is the Kung paw chicken but the szchezwan in vedgetables was something else... It was absolutely delicious and so was the spice eegplant... read more

Last year we stumbled upon Gourmet Dumpling House while walking around Chinatown. There were many Chinese restaurants but this one had a crowd outside waiting to get in. The food was excellent. We were back in Boston last month and decided to return. Once again, there was a crowd but the wait for a seat was only about 15 minutes.... More

The dumplings were exceptional, and the menu had a great variety to appeal to all palates. Worth a repeat visit.

A party member wanted dim sum and his first choice was not available. We "settled" for this based on a Yelp review (the Gourmet Dumpling is not a dim sum restaurant). The place is very small and the tables are packed together. Ambiance is not why you come here. There must of been 10-15 people ahead of us waiting, all... More

If you need a Chinese food fix, this will do. I've had better, I've had worse. I am middle of the road on this one. I would go again but I was not blown away.

Like so many excellent eateries, you could pass by this restaurant without ever noticing it... If it weren't for the line out the door! ChinaTown in Boston has some hidden gems and this place is one of them. The staff moved a smaller party to another table so we could fit in. Portions were HUGE! Be warned, if the menu... More

A gem in Boston's Chinatown. Okay, the place is small. Be prepared to wait, outside on the sidewalk. The food is exquisite. The tastes are magical. Chicken with asparagus. I didn't know I love asparagus that much. Chestnuts with chicken. Real chestnuts. But perfectly made in a sauce that I couldn't get enough of. The combination of the chestnuts the... More

Loved loved loved the food. Service is what you expect from an Chinese food dive. Go for the food, not the ambience or the service. The food is amazing. Szechuan specialties, the dumplings, the soup dumplings, the pork and chive dumplings, the scallion beef pancake roll, the ants on a tree, the mapo tofu. Mmmmmmm. Be guided by the lines... More
