... you won't regret it. Just leave yourself some time, let them know your name, get a waiting time estimate, visit the Commons for 15 minutes or so, and get back to the Gourmet Dumpling House for the best Chinese around. If you intend to order dumplings, even as appetizer, you should know that they state plainly that 15 minutes... More

Took the family here for dinner on a recent trip... had to wait for a table large enough for 5 people to open up, but once we got seated, the food was very good. We had the juicy dumplings with pork, scallion pancakes (a very pleasant surprise!), and fried rice. Everyone left full and happy. It's a pretty small place,... More

We came for Shanghai dumplings and were not disappointed. On a Monday night, it was packed and we waited about 15 minutes for a table. This is a small restaurant with tables set very close together. Besides the dumplings, we also had tofu and onion pancakes, everything was good. The dumplings were, by no means, the best we've had, but... More

Very bad service, the waitress that served us was very rude and lacked manners. Fairly small space, the dumplings aren't as great as advertised.

This restaurant is mobbed all the time! Solid food and good dumplings. The lunch specials are a draw, 3 dishes with rice for something like $22 is a fantastic bargain! Space is at a premium at this place so make sure you don't order too much food or you will run out of table real-estate. Menu is pretty self-explanatory if... More

Super small place with excellent food. We ordered three kinds of dumplings along with some super spicy soup and sweet and sour chicken. Everything was amazing and was served really quickly. Some places in Chinatown have a bit of a language barrier, but this place had a nice menu, easy to figure out.

Of course this is a real hole in the wall and very dirty sticky tables and sticky chairs, food is generally good; this time Chinese broccoli was hard as rocks, fish main was good; service is bad, awful but what ruined it was that although I paid cash, two servers came back and demanded even more of a tip, saying... First, yes be prepaird to wait a bit during busy times. And be hungry the portions are generous despite the modest prices. I was brought here for dinner buy a friend from China. He told me this is the best Chinese in all of Boston. I have no doubt that that is the absolute truth. The food is delicious and... More

I was super excited to eat here after reading all of the reviews. Be prepared to wait, have rude staff, and be crammed in like sardines. I guess that's part of the charm? The dumplings were thick and pasty. The filling was good, but I couldn't get past the exterior. For a "Gourmet Dumpling House" I was absolutely expecting more.... More

Came here close to midnight and place was still packed! Didn't have to wait for a table though as a group was just leaving. Ordered the wrong main dish, menu said "with vegetables" but ended up just being green and red peppers. Don't care that much for green and red peppers so wish I would have ordered something else. It... More
