The wait for a table is worth it (just keep telling yourself that while you wait an hour) My boyfriend and I heard about this place on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. The place is a hole in wall. You will become best-friends with whomever you sit next to, because you will sit that close to the other person. The food... More

This place is great if you need a dumpling and shanghai style food fix. That said, the skin on the juicy dumplings is way too thick and the meat inside is quite greasy. However, the panfried dumplings are great and so are the tofu dishes. Service is absolutely horrendous, but it is what it is.

Gourmet Dumpling specializes in very good Chinese food, hearty portions and brisk service. It's loud, bustling and has an extensive menu including lots of unusual specialities such as stinky tofu, pig intestines and blood pudding. Only complaint is that the sauces seem very salty - I woke up next day feeling very dehydrated.

In town for a conference and made our way to Chinatown for dinner. Excellent food, but be prepared for packing in tight (a sign really of it's quality and value for money) and eating fast as they don't hold back on bringing things to the table as it's cooked

We were sent here by our hotel concierge... it had a 4 star rating, but don't expect this to be your normal American style Chinese food.... The Won Ton soup will taste and look like dishwater to most tastes.... I'm sure it's authentic to the Chinese, but beware.... the spring rolls were very greasy and they do not have any... More

Spicy, rich, fast, every taste was great. This place is an institute around here. Long lines are waiting normally, for a reason. No atmosphere, just good Chinese. Also the dishes are surprisingly large so take leftovers to the homeless on the streets, its the only area in Boston which is crowded with homeless, and the shelter is just around the... More

No frills, fast service and worth the wait if there is a line. Mid-week before noon & the place was already full. As a solo diner though, I got a table immediately. Try the Eggplant & Basil. Sweet, a little spicy and entirely delicious.

All kind of dumplings are amazing, they look like Home Made! Then we ordered the spicy Fish soup, very good and very spicy, they bring it in a big bowl, it's a lot of food and my suggestion is to share it in 2-3 people. The place is tiny and busy, but it worth to wait 5-10 minuts!

This was a great find. Busy and although the servers lacked personality, the food was served quickly. Make sure you pack up the leftovers and share with one of the homeless people on the street.

On a recommendation we headed to The Gourmet Dumpling House in Chinatown near the Theatre district. It must have been our day as we did not have to wait. This is a small restaurant with possible table sharing. If you are expecting Dim Sum think again. This is more a restaurant with dumplings on the menu. What we had was... More
