We had a nice meal. Call ahead seating was great. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing (Lobster roll) but was not very impressed. Everyone I was with enjoyed their meal. The service was fabulous and plenty to choose from on the menu so I would probably give it another try. Great wine list also.

I grew up on the coast and rarely eat at inland seafood restaurants -- but this meal was fabulous - better than most I have had seaside. We started with raw oysters from Maine and Prince Edward Island. They were cold, crisp and expertly dislodged from their shell. While waiting for our entrees the manager brought us a sample of... Had a wonderful dinner Sunday night with our family. Arrived around 6:30 and were seated immediately. Our waiter was very helpful as we navigated the menu and specials. The meals ranged from Lobster pot pie to scallops and short ribs. Everyone totally satisfied.

Making a return visit to Asheville for an after holiday vacation. It was just over two years ago that I first visited The Lobster Trap for the first time. Remembering that previous experience, it was the first place I dined for dinner during my mountain stay. We visited on a Tuesday evening, the place had a good crowd, but luckily... More

No idea what to expect as we wandered around from restaurant to restaurant, but found the ambience, food and wait staff wonderful! Dishes were tasty and wait staff were genuinely friendly. We were seated in an area overlooking the food preparation, and specifically the oyster shucking. The guys showed us their tools of the trade. Very accommodating and fascinating to... More

The food here is fantastic. It ranks in the top best meals I've ever had while out to eat. The clams as an appetizer were delicious. Their homemade bread is also very good. My boyfriend got the whole Maine lobster, and I ordered fettucini with lobster. To say both were amazing is an understatement. These guys know what they're doing.... More

Normally I am leery of eating seafood in the mountains, but we were going with picky eaters, so we thought we'd give this place a try. I'm glad we did. The service was excellent. She overheard us say we were starving and brought us a complimentary crab dip that we all devoured. The brussel sprouts were amazing, and she took... More

My husband and I eat here a few times a year and it's always delicious. The cioppino is my favorite dish and my husband loves the crab cakes or shrimp and grits. Everything has been great though. They have a nice selection of oysters and the beer/beverage selection is great. I suggest getting here early though. No matter how busy... More

Outstanding food from appetizers to main entree. It is well worth the 25 minute wait that turned out to be 10. Service was outstanding. Highly recommended.
