Our first trip to the Lobster Trap was a disappointment! The fried oysters were off, the crab cakes from the bakery floor, the shrimp and grits had a bitter sauce with grape tomatoes. Our waitress was good, but I won't return to pay these prices in Asheville with so many really dependable great places nearby.

First visit was great. This time we were not happy. First, this place is laid out better than most bar, restaurants. It's beautiful. Next, the staff is wonderful. entertainment is mediocre, but fun. Last time the food was great. Not so this visit. My wife's coffee came out cold. Our Oysters Rockefeller were about the size of nickels. $14.00 for 8. My... More

Crab legs were good. Served with scissors. A nice touch. Shrimp and grits were fabulous. Night entertainment was fun to listen to. A bit loud. Service was excellent.

We went a little earlier in the evening - didn't have a problem getting a table - but it got busier as the night went on. Didn't look like a really long wait for anyone though. Food was excellent and our waiter Brandon was very attentive. All the staff was excellent and worked well together. Food was awesome Lobster Bisque... More

Great place. Great food. Great service. I only gave 3 stars because of the music. Just as dinner came, some guy with his laptop and beat oxen rolls in, sets up and starts jamming. I realize this style is current and obviously quite popular around Asheville. he was very good at it; just totally wrong for the place. The combination... More

Best seafood in town! Best King Crab Legs I've ever had. Service was great and the beer was good too! Our server, Shauna, was very attentive and pleasant.

We went to dinner and had the lobster feast. WOW. Lots of food all great except the brocollini Crab cakes, osyters, scallops wrapped in bacon, great multigrain bagette, king crab legs, whole lobster, shrimp, clams, mussels and lobster bisque. What a meal.

We sat at the bar overlooking the kitchen, live band in the background, great server who recommended the best drinks and sauces to top off melt-in-your-mouth food. Try the baked oysters for an appetizer!

Four of us enjoyed our experience at The Lobster Trap! We shared numerous appetizers and each one was delicious. The mussels were tasty and tender; the lobster bisque was delicious and not salty. We also shared a lobster roll, huge chunks of lobster in a light dressing, so delicious! The trap crab cakes were full of lump crabmeat and the... More

After seeing the restaurant promote it's self as #1 seafood place in Asheville, we decided to make this a special evening restaurant. The reservation process was much too complicated......no confirmed reservation......call before you come to get on waiting list....won't be seated until all members of party are present. The waitress and hostess were friendly and accommodating.......a plus. For an early... More

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you were disappointed with your portion size. All of the lobster we purchase for the restaurant are between one pound and one and a quarter pound. However, the lobster meat in the shell may be bigger or smaller depending on when they have last molted. There is no way to tell... More
