Since its opening in 2005, The Lobster Trap has been Asheville's premier seafood restaurant, and with good reason. The menu only features fresh seafood caught by trusted domestic purveyors and prepared in ways that showcase the delicate flavors and textures of fish, lobster, crabs, shrimp, oysters and clams. Located in a beautifully renovated historic building in the heart of downtown Asheville, The Lobster Trap features live entertainment from local musicians every night. To that, add locally brewed Oyster House beers, craft cocktails, seafood-friendly wines and southern hospitality and you have The Lobster Trap's formula for success.

Bigggg thumb's up!

Even though the restaurant is in the mountains, the seafood is flown in fresh every day and is excellent! My husband and I had the tastiest and most tender bacon-wrapped maple scallops we had ever eaten for an appetizer, followed by Lobster Newberg and Lobster Carbonarra that was to die for. My husband and I went to Asheville, NC with our friends for a relaxing birthday getaway. While walking downtown we happened upon this lil spot. The wait was long but we had Sangria and conversation so it was ok. We ordered the Lobster and Shrimp toast for an app and the Lobster mac and cheese which was bursting with nice size... More

The mac & cheese was omg delicious. Best I've ever had. Nice chunks of lobster throughout. The waiter (Brian C) helped us pick our meal. They have a cold tier but we prefer hot seafood so he suggested a few options. Crab legs were delicious and the serving size was shareable. The steak was even good. The wait was long... More

My boyfriend recently visited Maine where he had what he describes as an amazing lobster roll. We specifically visited this restaurant to give their lobster roll a try. Absolutely delicious. The lobster bisque is wonderful, too. We will be making many more trips to this establishment!

Had dinner here Friday March 20. Got there around 7 or so, they said it would be around 30 minutes for a table so we went to the bar to get a glass of wine. The bartender was great and full of personality (if only all bartenders were like that!). We ended up only waiting about 10 minutes for a... More

My husband and I ate here our first night in Asheville and ordered lobster for 2 that we really enjoyed. The service was great. Our server took time to show us how to eat the lobster and checked on us frequently. We also enjoyed the live music while we dined. I would definitley recommend this restaurant!

We visited on a Friday night. Arrived about 5:30 PM and were lucky and got seated right away. I had the lobster carbonara which was excellent. My wife had the lobster roll which also had lots of lobster in it. The only downside was it was so noisy we had trouble hearing each other. We were close to the bar... More

Having recently moved to Asheville, we've walked by The Lobster Trap any number of times and, each time, I've said "we have to check that place out!". Unfortunately, I've then forgotten to do so. Luckily, I purchased a coupon book from Asheville Independent Restaurants, and every time I opened it I was reminded of this restaurant. Because of some other... More
