Arrived at 8pm and had a 30 min wait. Service was excellent Food was IMO overpriced Quality was good but could have been better. Lobster Mac and Cheese was stiff but had good flavor. Bacon wrapped Scallops in maple syrup was good. Shrimp and Grits would have been excellent if not for to much white wine in the sauce (at... More

Our server was Shawna and she was outstanding. We really loved the maple bacon wrapped scallops and the seafood Brats but the crab cakes while good were a bit lacking on the crab. Nice old bay flavor but just needed to see more crab less filler. The Ruby Moon cocktail is delish and my go to for this establishment. They... More

Our server was Jess... She was so awesome! She helped with suggestions and was a lot of fun. Make sure to ask for her! My husband ordered the Wicked Good Main Lobster. This is over a pound! It is served with potatoes and corn on the cob. I had the King Crab Legs with potatoes and corn, as well. We... More

This was our first time visiting Asheville. We saw reviews of this place and decided to give it a try. Definitely a great choice. I was in the mood for some oysters on the half-shell, they had several varieties listed on the blackboard, I asked the waitress to bring out a dozen of the saltiest variety. Because they had a... We brought some friends to Asheville for their 50th Wedding Anniversary and when they saw the Lobster Trap advertised, that was their choice for dinner. And we were not disappointed! The lobster was perfect in both whole cooked lobster and lobster roll. The service was outstanding! The atmosphere was very warm and friendly, and we were welcomed the moment we... More

We were walking by and I remembered they had good reviews so we stopped in. There wasn't anything on the menu for my son, who isn't a seafood lover, but the cook made him a hamburger and he was thrilled. We enjoyed the oyster shooters and I had a great lobster roll. The service is good, the beer was great... More

What a nice surprise! I didn't expect Asheville, NC to be a hot spot for fresh seafood, but this place not only didn't disappoint, it impressed. Fresh oysters, live lobster, local ingredients, gluten free and non-GMO cornbread... This is a fairly expensive restaurant, and I tend to be frugal, but I had no qualms about "spending what was needed" to... More

We were so looking forward to our return to Asheville for our week in the fall and to indulge in the food/service of the lobster trap. What a difference a year makes. Disappointed in the food and the service was lacking. Next years return to the mountains will not include a trip to this restaurant, which is such a shame... More

I am so sorry that you were disappointed in your visit. I would love to get some more information. I am curious about what you ordered and who your server was. We did remodel the restaurant since last year but most of our staff and food have remained unchanged. I would love it if you could give us a call... More

We picked a REALLY cold weekend to visit Asheville, but once we stepped inside The Lobster Trap we were greeted by Drew who sat us at the bar where we watched our new best friend the oyster shucker (whose name we forgot - but not his choice in Sun Hallow oysters from the west coast). The lobster roll was wonderful... More

I have visited the Lobster Trap for several years while attending conferences in Asheville and the food is always wonderful along with great service and atmosphere. Like any place, you can have an issue with a meal from time to time but following a recent review, the owner of the LT e-mailed me and offered a gift card for a... More
