A Real Taste of France

This is a very small and cozy restaurant that does not take reservations. Our server was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The owner came over to our table to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. My wife's dinner was excellent. I tried the pork chop which was OK, but nothing special. Next time I'll try something a little more "French"... More

Looked forward to last night in Asheville and dinner at Bouchon. Sat at the bar waiting for a table. Bartender was helpful and charming. Seated quickly, we read the menu and I was looking forward to the mussels, especially since it was all you can eat. My wife had read about duck with orange and chocolate. We were quickly informed... Visited Bouchon on the night of the arrival of our big snowstorm. Place was deserted, but that allowed us to enjoy the cozy, comfortable atmosphere at Bouchon. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful. He guided us through our menu selections offering his opinions on dishes. We both started with a salad (roasted beets and green salad). Both were very... One of the toughest parts of traveling is finding that gem while visiting for the first time. Due to some excellent advice we went to Bouchon. Reminded me of the bistros in New York City. Narrow room, high ceilings and tight tables. The noise factor was loud but now intrusive. The menu had the right amount of choices to suit... More

Just perfect. Bouchon has a wonderful atmosphere perfect for any occasion, comfortable and relaxed. The wait staff is as chill and perfect as the atmosphere. But wait, I guess I should mention the food. eh? Well, the food was perfect too. The menu has something for everyone, from meat options to vegetable options, all wrapped in a yummy crepe of... More

Pommes frites. Don't even stop to think. Just do it. This is what "french fries" were meant to be. Order the pommes frites, and take it from there. The menu is very French, the ambience almost equally so. My companion's Coquilles St. Jacques were delicious, the portion properly small given their richness. My cassoulet was not as good but still... More

Perfect cozy dinner on a chilly night. Try the mussels or the rabbit when they have it on the menu. The African Queen is the best dessert downtown for my money.
