Our friends selected here for lunch and after reading the reviews, I was a little concerned. However we had a very nice lunch. I had a scallop special. They were bacon wrapped over some arugula with a drizzle of balsamic reduction. The scallops were done perfectly and they managed to adequately cook the bacon without overdoing the scallops. The balsamic... More

I have read so much about great Asheville dining, and thought it would be fun to get off the beaten track and explore. Magnolia's turned out to be a waste of time and money. The food was very salty, and they were using frozen fish. Many menu items were unavailable. Very poor wine and beer list, and in Asheville that... More

I was surprised at how dirty this place was. Little bugs flying about getting into what was the worst Shrimp Scampi ever... understaffed and rude they could of cared less that I barely touched my food, asking if I wanted it boxed to go ... seriously??? We won't even go into what the bathrooms looked like ... Magnolia's use to... More

Prior to my trip to Asheville I checked out restaurant reviews and menus so as to select a restaurant that serves trout cooked as simplistically as possible in order to capitalize on the flavor of the trout. This restaurant was the one I selected for our dining experience on Monday, July 8th. My mom, my partner, and I looked forward to... More

The shrimp and grits was not very good and the shrimp scampi was worse. There was a special on sangria and we couldn't even drink it because it was watered down and lacking taste. This is a place to avoid

I wasn't sure what we would find after reading mixed reviews on Magnolia's. So, I will start by saying that this is a dinner review only. I have no idea of what it is like for nightlife. We were seated promptly on the covered patio dining area and our wait person (Maggie) appeared shortly thereafter. She asked if were too... More

The place is great. The food is great. the service is great... EXCEPT if you get served by Mike. Read on. We ordered the all you can eat crab legs, $30.00/person. Mike had 2 tables, ours with my wife and myself and the other table had 8 people. Mike brought our salads, but no silverware. He said he'd get it.... More

We went there for music and dancing! We got it. Classic Rock and Cold Beer, then a Taxi back to the room! Its hard to find classic rock and dancing in this area anymore, but Magnolia's has it. Of course if you're old enough to enjoy classic rock, you may not want to wait til 10:30 to start your night,... More

The service was fantastic and the food was delicious- we got two of the best prime ribs we've ever had, plus a salad and a side, and each plate was less than twenty dollars. We timed our visit a little poorly, as we came in just as the kitchen was closing before the late night menu came into place. As... More

A friend and I had dinner before going to see "Bark the Musical at the Asheville community theatre. We had drinks which were reasonable priced, and dinner, consisting of salads, soups, and main dinner of a salmon sandwich. Salads were crisp and good and dressing tasty. Salmon sandwich was cooked right and excellent. Out server was friendly and gave very... More
