Description: Marco's Pizzeria continues the family business started in 1933 of cooking unparalleled New York-style pizza in two locations in Asheville, North Carolina. Marco's Great Uncle Patsy started the family's first pizzeria when he expanded the offerings of his ice cream parlor to include the uniquely New York-Italian dish. Patsy's Pizzeria in Harlem originally used a coal-fired oven to create a crust that is thin and crisp on the outside. Today, the fourth generation of pizza-makers in Marco's family continues to use Patsy's recipe and methods to create a dish that is unlike anything else available outside New York.

My wife and I grew up in NJ, we had heard that the pizza was good here, so we were looking forward to trying it. I ordered a small pie and she ordered the eggplant parmigiana, disappointed with both. I thought the quality of the food was poor, and you don't get much for your money. The eggplant was an... More

My wife and I ate lunch here and I'm glad we arrived early because the place filled up quickly. We had the basic cheese pizza and it was the reverse of what we imagined. The fresh mozzarilla cheese was the majority of the pie with a few spoonfuls of sauce. Usually we have it the other way around with lots... More

Looking for good pizza while visiting Asheville. We accidentally "found" Marcos and stopped to order a pie. Got an onion and mushroom and it was great. Crust was perfect and the toppings very fresh. Some New York sports memorabilia at their south location didn't hurt either. Thanks folks for a great pizza. We will stop by when we are in... More

We got into town late tired and cold and saw a sign for pizza and took a chance. The staff was friendly and the bar tender let us sample the local beers so we could pick one out while our pizza cooked. Pizza was excellent and we felt comfortable so it was a great way to start our Asheville adventure.... More

we have been coming to Marco's for years. the food is excellent especially their calzones strombolis pizza in Greek salads. the owner himself, Marco, will stop what he's doing to greet you no matter how busy they are. a great atmosphere and truly a great source for food in a local area. don't let the small shopping centerocation fool you.... We got a large pesto pizza to go. It is a perfect NY style pizza. It has thin foldable crust the is as chewy and flavorful as any I have had. If you like this style of pizza, you can't go wrong with Marco's.

I stopped in here last year to eat and everything was great. This year on the other hand, I just don't know. The calzone I ordered was good but I didn't have a great waitress. She barely checked on me but on the plus side the one cook helped me out a lot.

Marco's has terrific pizza. It is wood-fired at a high temperature and comes to the table crispy and with a very slight char to it. It is among the best pizza's I've eaten. They offer many choices on their menu and also have a full-course Italian menu besides pizza. The Merrimon Ave branch of the restaurant is in a strip... More

We have had pizza a few times and it is consistently salty. The pie has great potential if this defect is corrected.

As a local native, I feel actually so blessed to have Marco's in this town. There are other places to get a decent pizza, but none compares to Marco's. This ABSOLUTELY NO QUESTION: Marco's is the best-tasting pizza I've ever had. It's so good, you'll learn why it should be called Pie. It is a think crust with a juicy... More
