Malaprop's is a stop we make every time we go to Asheville. I love that the cafe has the option of using a ceramic cup for dine-in. And when I do get a coffee or tea to go, it's not in styrofoam. Yay! Many of the snacks are local made and often we see a vegan snack or two. We... More

One of America's last great bookstores where anyone can find something that they want to read. It is places like this that keep me reading books instead of an e-reader because half the fun is wondering around the store and checking out all they have to offer.

I love this place! It is Not a large bookstore, but authors adore it and support it with loads of booksignings. It is a quirky place and the staff are good. There is a section on local flora and fauna, great maps and local authors. The tiny cafe makes some lovely coffees and Italian sodas. The bathroom is clean and... More

We stopped in at Malaprop's during our walk through downtown Asheville. We found Malaprop's to be a cool little bookstore in the heart of downtown. It has a café and plenty of space to relax and enjoy and book and a drink.

What's not to love? Malaprop's offers a nice blend of local authors, unusual gifts, great coffee, and yummy pastries. Periodic book signings, poetry readings, and other author events make this one of the most "connected" book shops in WNC. The community bulletin board is a "must read" to find out what is happening in Asheville and beyond. Great shop, perfect... More

This is such a great bookstore and community center!I found a stack of books I will never see at the monolithic chains. Great cafe, tee shirts as well.

We stopped by here after having some great chocolate across the street. I was hoping for a good cup of coffee and a nice place to read. The atmosphere was acceptable. There were some louder patrons but expected with a cafe/bookstore. However the coffee was lacking. Add to that the centipede that dropped down on my wife and we walked... More
