Loved this place-- and we just stumbled on it by accident. Totally entertaining people watching from the sidewalk cafe . Food was not too expensive and delicious. I had the escargots and some funky salad. Waitress attentive, atmosphere Parisian... really, everything Asheville is all about! Highly recommended! more

While the food was good, we had the Indian sampler, the place was busy and the server seemed a little rude. I don't think I would come here again. Or if I did I would come here for dinner only so I could sit at a regular table. I went during the afternoon and no tables were available, so we... more

This place got off on the wrong foot and stayed there. Where to begin? From the time we were seated til our entrees arrived was just over an hour, and the restaurant was less than a quarter full. I ordered a cocktail that only needs two basic ingredients, but was informed a few minutes later the bar was "out of"... more

After a day of shopping downtown some friends and I decided to stop in to the Frogbar. I had never been here although I've lived in Asheville my whole life. I started out with a martini and then we decided to order appetizers. The calamari was spectacular and the crab napoleon was divine. The drinks were strong, the waitstaff was... more

My wife and I showed up for dinner on Valentine's Day without a reservation (not recommended, because this restaurant is very popular). However, the staff was very accommodating, and provided seating at their 'tasting table'. This actually worked out really well, since we had amazing conversation with two other couples seated next t to us (who also didn't reserve seating... more

Ok, my computer has eaten my two previous attempts here, so let that be your assurance that I want to get GOOD words out about the FF. We (four) had dinner there last night. Over many years we have eaten at FF, both in its former location and now at 1 Battery Park. The evening was wonderful. The wait staff... more

Maybe on the pricey side. I have only had a salad and humus appetizer. The salad had pear slices in it... amazing. more

One of the worst meals I have ever had, not to mention the rudeness of the server. The dining room was in a windowless, poorly maintained and a "decor" so poor words cannot describe. There are many great places to eat in Asheville, but this is one to avoid at all costs. more

I have lived in Asheville for over a decade and this is by far the best restaurant in town! Yeah, it is in the basement, but don't let that keep you away. VJ has extensively rennovated the place and it is beautiful (Feb. 2008). The menu may be too broad for some: VJ's parents are from different ethnic origins and... more
