Good Service with an interesting and tasty menu

Interesting selections abound at this great local diner choice. I have eaten here many times with an ever increasing appreciation for their preparation of even the simplest dishes. On my latest visit I had the Kale Ceasar Salad, always a favorite and the Bangers and Mash (called something else... read more

Interesting selections abound at this great local diner choice. I have eaten here many times with an ever increasing appreciation for their preparation of even the simplest dishes. On my latest visit I had the Kale Ceasar Salad, always a favorite and the Bangers and Mash (called something else on the menu). My wife and I split both and we... More

Spending time in Asheville, N.C. this weekend, we discovered the Barleycorn pub and really enjoyed the food and great service. It was close to our hotel and the retreat we attended, so ate there three times in just two days - dinner two evenings and lunch the day of the retreat. We arrived for dinner around 5 p.m. and were... More

The Barleycorn has received wows from other reviewers but on two recent occasions, this diner found the food and service Only OK. The menu options are limited even for pub food. I opted for Tuscan Kale Caesar Salad as a start off then chose the Michael Burger with fries. The Tuscan Caesar needed more "massaging" and additional crunch or zing.... More

The Weekend brunch menu offers a salmon Benny that is EXCELLENT, but the best? The home fries. The best in Asheville.

The Barleycorn is a neighborhood convenience for us. Interesting menu, love the wings. I will say service is hit and miss. No over achiever a there generally. They made it a nice place but it seems they need to do something to set themselves apart more from the huge F&B options in West Asheville let alone Asheville as a whole. We'll... More

I usually don't order hamburgers as most are dry and bland. I had the best hamburger since the 60's here at Barleycorn. The sides were very interesting also, like oven baked cauliflower, yum. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Tracy and I hit The Barleycorn after Church. I ordered the Morgan Farm burger with fries. Tracy got the Barleycorn breakfast. The food and service were excellent. Tracy and I both finished off our meals. We set out on the patio and enjoyed the beautiful day. And people watched while we waited on our meals. It was a really wonderful... More

I had a late dinner here with a friend recently. We both ordered Morgan Farms burgers with hand cut fries, and they were large and perfectly cooked to order. The beef was high quality and the taste was excellent. The fries were crisp and tasty, and The ketchup had a great little extra kick. There were lots of other interesting... More

Don't overlook this gem in West Asheville. Oh My Gosh!!!! Food was amazing and eclectic. It had the flair of a high end establishment, but the prices were affordable. There was a zero wait and the inside was charming. Wait staff was friendly and prompt.
