Can Be Inconsistent

A dish at Salsa can be very good one time, and very different and not so good the next time you visit. Consistency isn't its strong point, but its location on Patton Avenue near Pack Square, its interesting takes on Caribbean and Mexican food and its generous servings at not very expensive prices keep it popular.

This restaurant is not your average Mexican eatery! The portions are plentiful, and so is the flavor. If you're looking for something different and trendy, this is a great place to start.

Went for dinner on a Saturday night. Glad we got there early (5:30ish) before the wait started. Small inside but food is packed with freshness and flavor. Recommend the chips w three salsas. Shared a lava bowl and glad we did - it was huge. Everything tasted very fresh and had tons of flavor.

You can easily share plates here, we just wanted a quick bite for lunch and it was so much food that we couldn't finish it, I always feel bad not being able to eat it all. Very tasty though for what it was, and I would definitely go again but my girl and I would share a plate for sure!

Fantastic burritos! Great service! Just off Pack Square. Enjoyed the pitcher around the head and glass on the knee (had to be there). Perfect lunch!

Visiting for the holidays and checked out the Asheville villages area. After a short wait we were seated. Had to wait for service. Tried the shrimp tacos. A good helping but the shrimp didnt have much flavor to it. Did have the stuffed avocado. The best thing on the menu!! I wish I had ordered the full portion instead of... More

This place is tiny and filled up within 20 minutes of it opening for lunch. Only a handful of tables that are placed intimately close to others. It got a bit loud with the small crowd, but it wasn't overwhelming. It's decorated in carribbean decor and colors and the service was great. The food, is AMAZING. We had a large... More

Went to Salsa's on a whim for dinner when walking around downtown Asheville. We ordered chicken nachos as an appetizer and decided to share an entrée (the dishes served in a "clay bowl" were different and looked really good and are plenty for two to share - especially after an afternoon at the breweries). We went with the roasted pork... More

They served us right away. The food was spectacular. I had the breakfast tacos and they were so delicious. Even though its a small place it was very pleasant and quaint.

A busy Saturday Jan 2 so the holiday visitors were out in big numbers. We asked a local who recommended this place. 20 min wait at 3PM so we took a stroll. Came back and seated right away by a friendly hostess. Right after order, my college daughter said, 'That guy has the perfect demeanor for the restaurant business." My... More
