Unique and delicious dishes

I ate here 7 years ago and remembered it being awesome. I came back with the family and it was still top notch. There are so many flavors packed into the plate. I had a roast pork empanada that was like a flavor bomb. So good. My wife's coconut chicken burrito was crazy good. The portions are huge. Tell them... More

You've just got to go if you like fresh food with a mexican flare. Small dining area and get there early or you're going to wait.

This restaurant, officially named Salsa's, by the way, was the surprise discovery of my recent short stay in Asheville. It is not elegant, and fairly small, but no matter. The combination Mexican/Caribbean flavors were truly new and exciting. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, in the best sense of the word. This place is a true value… My boyfriend and I... More

This is a little hole in the wall type place. It has a unique array of foods, Mexican food with a splash of Caribbean. I ordered the chicken tacos and it was quite yummy. Plan to use your knife and fork as everything is a little messy. My husband ordered the pom-pom with one more pomp actually, it arrived in... More

Reading the reviews and having a personal recommendation I was excited to try Salsa. Arriving prime time on a Friday night we were seated outside which is basically an alley. We didn't mind that - it was a beautiful night but please know that inside or out, Salsa is a very low-key restaurant. The fresh salsa's are a definite reason... More

Walked there for lunch today planning to meet friends and it was closed. They appear to be doing construction but there was no sign explaining what was going on and their website is not up to date.

I had the Mollajete which is a meat and vegetable and rice stew in a delicious broth. It was server in a lava rock bowl and was screaming hot - actually boiling when brought to the table. It continued to boil throughout the meal. My wife had the Pom-Pom-Poms meat, vegetables, rice and sauce served in a wooden bowl. both... More
