Great Farm to Table Food

The Market Place was a little cold to us when we came in on a Friday evening without a reservation, however we were granted a high top and served after a short wait. The wait staff here is a little amateurish, but still friendly. The menu is extremely rustic, but the plating is high quality. I... read more

In town for a business trip our host brought us to the Market Place for dinner. The service was absolutely perfect but the food was amazing. From the cheese and meat boards to the dessert it was perfect. A true farm to table experience I wont forget.

We've lived here for 11 years and we ate at The Market Place many years ago when Mark Rosenberg was the Chef -Owner, but for some reason we have not been back in ages. I decided to take my wife for dinner prior to attending the Asheville Symphony. We made an early reservation and were seated right away on the... More

We chose this restaurant because it was one of only four in Asheville that was partnered with our foraging tour - we were able to bring the food we had foraged and have it cooked up as our appetizer. I also give it extra points because on Tuesdays beers are just $2 and they have live jazz; also they focus... More

Took 45 minutes to be served, eggs runny, food otherwise average at best. There was a decent crowd, but that should have been predictable. Heard several other customers receiving apologies for missing items, and then my order was missing the maple syrup.

We had recently read about Chef William Dissen in the new magazine, Plough to Pantry. He is committed to using local ingredients and even testified on Capitol Hill about GMO labeling. The interview made us want to eat at his restaurant. I am glad we did because the food was so delicious. I had poached local eggs on grits cakes... More

From Simone - the hostess, to Katie - our waitress, and all of the staff - the service and food were perfect. A bonus was the wonderful combo of talented musicians. Would absolutely return if we get back to Ashevile.

One of the many great restaurants in Asheville. Had the pappardelle with lamb. Excellent!!! Changing menu to take advantage of fresh seasonal items. Highly recommended.

Amazing restaurant, very upbeat and modern. Wonderful cuisine. We had quail and a gourmet cheese spread. Everyone was very happy with their meal. There was a live musician on site in the bar area. Wait staff was very good.

Went on a wed nite about 6:30 not too crowded. There were 5 in our party and 1 of them in a wheelchair. We pulled up in front of door got my sister in wheelchair inside. Since Wednesday nite, not busy were led to nice table tucked under 1st floor stairs which was out of the way and tad quieter... More
