What drew us here once we passed the crowds at Early Girl was the smell of real wood cookery. I do not understand why you would wait in line there when this is just a few steps away. Incredible food! Enjoyed brunch outside with Mac n cheese and a jalapeño biscuit, but the best was the local grassfed beef ground... More

My husband and I enjoyed a Sunday Brunch outside on their patio. It suited us perfectly and we got to have our dog with us too!

Our experience at The Market Place was not good. From the moment we walked in, we could feel "attitude." By the time we left at the end of the evening, I was pretty sure that that "attitude" was the arrogance of the chef which permeated the place. He clearly has a vision, and he hopes you are worthy. Our chirpy,... More

We had some of our best dining experiences with family and friends at The Market Place Restaurant. Good food, nice wines, and pleasant atmosphere.

So I agree with all of the other reviews for the Market Place - the food and the service were excellent. Yes, the portions are really small so do not go here if you're very hungry for sure! But the food was excellent and the fact that it is all locally grown/raised and so fresh, makes it even better. I... More

The Market Place Restaurant has a great, young, award-winning chef, and is a fine dining establishment that is clearly well-run. The small plate offerings were luscious and creative, and they offer fresh specials that change regularly. The list of entrees offers creations prepared from local trout & chicken, to pork shoulder, beef steak, and a tasty (and spicy) Roasted Indian... More

Excellent cappuccinos! Huge Mimosas! Amazing menu! The Eggs Benton and the Market Breakfast were delicious and nutritious! Friendly and attentive wait staff and a great people watching spot on Wall St!

I have been to the Market Place restaurant many times now and have never been disappointed with their service or food. I love sitting at the stone bar and people watching, but dinner is always spectacular. The look and feel of the bar area is comfortable and inviting, there is something about it that makes me feel at ease. Their... More

The Market Place is a lovely restaurant inside. Our waitress was very pleasant and professional. Our salad was disappointing as was just a small handful of greens, strip of cucumber encompassing the greens (attractive) with maybe two sliced cherry tomatoes...lacking in taste, and too costly. The red snapper entrée was prepared very, very well; crisp on the outside but again,... More

Arrived in Asheville on a Sunday afternoon and wanted to grab a bite to eat. Most of the highly rated places in downtown had at least 60 min waits so we opted to search elsewhere. We stumbled upon the Market Place and were pleasantly surprised. They only offered a brunch menu which bummed me out a little because I wasn't... More
