The Market Place is a lovely restaurant inside. Our waitress was very pleasant and professional. Our salad was disappointing as was just a small handful of greens, strip of cucumber encompassing the greens (attractive) with maybe two sliced cherry tomatoes...lacking in taste, and too costly. The red snapper entrée was prepared very, very well; crisp on the outside but again,... More

Arrived in Asheville on a Sunday afternoon and wanted to grab a bite to eat. Most of the highly rated places in downtown had at least 60 min waits so we opted to search elsewhere. We stumbled upon the Market Place and were pleasantly surprised. They only offered a brunch menu which bummed me out a little because I wasn't... More

We chose this for our date night and were greatly rewarded. Our server, Harriet was both knowledgeable and genuine. She steered us to the wild mushroom gratin and we paired it with a glass of rose' and I have to say that it was phenomenal. The shrooms were collected for the restaurant by a local mycologist and the flavor swerve... More

This restaurant has it all: delicious farm-to-table food; welcoming, knowledgeable, and professional servers; a lovely space that features generously spaced tables and a noise level that permits conversation. Everyone in my party agreed that our meal at Market Place was the most enjoyable of our visit to Asheville. An added plus: unlike many popular Asheville restaurants, Market Place takes reservations.... More

Best meal we had in ashville. We were a little under dressed but they took us anyway. Pricey but it delivered. Knowledge staff.

What a treat!! The former chef at The Greenbriar resort provides a phenomenal menu for his patrons. Every dish was full of farm fresh ingredients, and even the jam was homemade. For brunch, I selected the banana bread French toast drizzled with raspberry puree syrup, which was one of the tastiest dishes I have ever eaten. I returned again during... More

We have traveled to Asheville many times and always enjoyed the wonderful restaurants the city has to offer. This time we were traveling with friends who picked the Market Place for the menu. Wow! I was blown away by the wonderful service of our waitress, Denise. Professional, very knowledgeable of the preparation of every dish and fun to engage with.... More

We sat there and talked about the food the whole time we were there for lunch. It was so good. A must go if you like really good tasting but healthy food. I thought the prices were reasonable also and the place was very classy dark wood everywhere.

Beautifully prepared food for a table of 4. The steak was cooked exactly as ordered, as were the seafood dishes. Waitress a little slow as she had little help for too many tables. Really appreciate being able yo bring our own wine for a reasonable $12 corkage fee. Highly recommend

My BF and I were wandering around after having dinner at another place and stumbled upon this place when we heard wonderful music coming from inside so we stopped in. Originally sat along the wall but moved to the bar for after-dinner drinks and dessert. Service was very nice and bartenders were friendly. We ordered an amazing Crème Brule dessert... More
