Baba's Kitchen is now called The Potato Wedge. This was my second trip there. The potato latkes and poached eggs were great. The service was super and he owner as most personable. I can't wait t return on my next trip o Asheville.

Tripadvisor folks, please note. This restaurant is now called The Potato Wedge. It is owned b the granddaughter of "Baba" for who it was originally named. It is a bright sunny, cheerful family restaurant, just off Route 26, north of Asheville proper. And worth the detour! we had omelettes, grits, Ruskie (yum) potatoes and the most satisfying coffee. Coffee drinkers... More

It is not fancy, but does offer simple good food at a good price. Would not have a problem returning.

Lot's of great reviews here - we had breakfast because there wasn't another place open nearby on Monday morning. Table was sticky, coffee was acrid and burnt tasting, omelot was overdone, rubbery and dry, hash browns were NOT brown (isn't there a reason they're called hash browns???), the "butter" on the table was some kind of spread, the "cream" was... Great food. Nice people. Simple place, but nice and clean. Like a small dinner. As a polish person - I took some of my friends there. Due to some of my dietary restrictions I could only sample some of the dishes, but the one I tried were fantastic - truly "home made style". The other foods - my friends enjoyed... More

Baba's exceeded my expectations when hoping for excellent breakfast fare at very reasonable prices. There are too many items on their menu for me to comment (a plus since I like variety), but just the regular breakfast like the "Hungry Man" with eggs, sausage, ham, biscuit and gravy, and hash brown potatoes is enough said for me. Service was excellent,... More

This smallish cafe is a breakfast/lunch locals hanghout. I generally eat breakfast, only open for breakfast and lunch, and the food is ample and delicious. Service is quick and friendly with an occasional visit from the chef/owner. If you are in the North Asheville area it is worth a stop, try the eggs Bennie, with brown gravy.........and sausage.
