This was recommended to us and we are glad they did. The shrimp and grits were simply awesome not to spicy for breakfast and filled me up just right. I believe they are busy most everyday as were there midweek. still the service was good and would defiantly go back.

Loved the atmosphere and the location in Downtown Asheville. The food was homey and delicious. Felt like I was at my grandma's house for breakfast.

A work aquaintance recommeded Eary Girl. We went for breakfast on September 3rd. Not much of an entrance, though the window decor was very nice and welcoming. We were greeted promptly by a very friendly and welcoming hostess. Very clean dining room. Our intial server (#6) greeted us and informed of us of specials. Were were taken care of by... More

We had dinner here and were expecting a more interesting meal based on reviews. Overall, the food was good; we had meatloaf with tomato sauce and pork loin with gravy. Both were well-prepared with fresh products and very flavorful. The mashed potatoes were excellent; the macaroni and cheese was very good, as were the grits; the broccoli salad (the only... More

Dont let the rude chef and hostess turn you away! Maybe they were mad they had to work on Labor Day! Thank goodness our waitress was in a good mood and very attentive. We had the Porky Breakfast Bowl and the Early Girl Benny with country ham and biscuit. Definitely order the latter-the best thing since sliced bread! Portions are... More

I grew up in Asheville and am so glad restaurants such as early girl have moved into the area. Everything is so delicious and a good size. Sometimes the waitresses can be a little rude especially if you go later in the evening or at a busy time which is displeasing. Overall, I would highly suggest this restaurant.

Looking for something different for breakfast? This is the place. Suits tastes ranging from vegan to meaty southern cuisine and does it in a quaint, fun location with energetic servers. Try it, you'll like it!

Early Girl has something for everyone, from southern cooking to vegetarian. The menu is a good selection of all day food. Usually a wait, as its a small place and can get loud, but well worth it. And enjoy Wall St afterwards.

What a find! It was recommended by friends and by our B&B host, and I will definitely continue the chain of recommendations. Casual dining, gourmet flavors. Grit croutons! Broccoli cheddar hush puppies! Really! Gluten-free menu available, vegan items, also meat (including free-range chicken). Lots of choices. Because of the name thought it was mainly breakfast but we had a great... More

Really enjoyed the food and service. It was a busy Sunday in Asheville. We had to wait 25 minutes for a table. It was worth the wait. There were several vegetarian options. The grits were the best I have had. The kitchen was a little backed up, but our server made up for it by checking in more than once... More
