Remembering an amazing breakfast of a trip to Asheville a few years ago, I couldn't wait to go back during a recent visit. Unfortunately, I will not take away a similar memory this time. A simple breakfast - eggs, biscuit, bacon, and coffee. Ordered the scrambled eggs soft - first attempt dry as pebbles and the second barely better -... More

Stopped in randomly for breakfast/brunch and it was packed! Wide range of interesting breakfast dishes and lunch/dinner as well. I'm blanking in the name of my dish but poached egg, spinach, tomato gravy atop a grit cake was out of this world. Really the tastiest brunch I've had in recent memory. Inside decor was cozy and quaint and captures the... More

Our Bed and breakfast hosts recommended this to us and we're so glad they did! We had a late dinner that was divine. Avocado sandwich for one and the meatloaf for the other. Both of us left quite satisfied. Meals were excellent and the atmosphere was fun. Prices very good and the market fresh items made us feel we had... More

We arrived Sunday morning about 20 minutes till opening. Should have arrived 30-40 minutes prior to opening. However, it was worth the wait. I had an amazing breakfast of poached eggs on a grit cake (Oh!) topped by fresh tomato gravy and sliced avocados. Can you say, "Awesome?" The coffee was steaming and nearly perfect. Can't recall my husband's meal... More

Touring downtown Asheville, we happened upon this delightful little eatery. I'd heard the name before, but wasn't sure when. We were hungry, and decided to go in. The Early Girl was noted for using only local produce and products creatively to enhance their menu of more Earthly Fare. If you are looking for a "Local" spot, with a "Natural" flair,... More

I had a veggie omelet that was very tasty. I normally like the omelet stuff mixed in with the eggs instead of just folded with the egg, but it was still very good. I had the make-your-own with spinach, peppers, and cheese. Also, a side of biscuit. The biscuits were a little different than the butter covered ones I'm used... More

While both of us felt they are somewhat pricey, we had very different feelings in regards to the food. My husband loved both what he had and mine, that he finished. The portions are adequate. I, however, did not really care for the tempeh reuben sandwich or broccoli salad much. the service was excellent, however. Our waitress was very sweet... More

Fresh. Creative. Perfectly prepared and served. And no wait at 9 AM on a Wednesday morning. Really good, coursely-ground grits.
