What a find! It was recommended by friends and by our B&B host, and I will definitely continue the chain of recommendations. Casual dining, gourmet flavors. Grit croutons! Broccoli cheddar hush puppies! Really! Gluten-free menu available, vegan items, also meat (including free-range chicken). Lots of choices. Because of the name thought it was mainly breakfast but we had a great... More

Really enjoyed the food and service. It was a busy Sunday in Asheville. We had to wait 25 minutes for a table. It was worth the wait. There were several vegetarian options. The grits were the best I have had. The kitchen was a little backed up, but our server made up for it by checking in more than once... More

I love Early Girl. It's an Asheville staple and never disappoints. Seating is a bit limited and sometimes, service lags, but the food is great quality. Try the black bean cakes - I can't stop thinking about them! Excellent biscuits and jam, you'll want to take some home.

Remembering an amazing breakfast of a trip to Asheville a few years ago, I couldn't wait to go back during a recent visit. Unfortunately, I will not take away a similar memory this time. A simple breakfast - eggs, biscuit, bacon, and coffee. Ordered the scrambled eggs soft - first attempt dry as pebbles and the second barely better -... More

Stopped in randomly for breakfast/brunch and it was packed! Wide range of interesting breakfast dishes and lunch/dinner as well. I'm blanking in the name of my dish but poached egg, spinach, tomato gravy atop a grit cake was out of this world. Really the tastiest brunch I've had in recent memory. Inside decor was cozy and quaint and captures the... More

Our Bed and breakfast hosts recommended this to us and we're so glad they did! We had a late dinner that was divine. Avocado sandwich for one and the meatloaf for the other. Both of us left quite satisfied. Meals were excellent and the atmosphere was fun. Prices very good and the market fresh items made us feel we had... More

We arrived Sunday morning about 20 minutes till opening. Should have arrived 30-40 minutes prior to opening. However, it was worth the wait. I had an amazing breakfast of poached eggs on a grit cake (Oh!) topped by fresh tomato gravy and sliced avocados. Can you say, "Awesome?" The coffee was steaming and nearly perfect. Can't recall my husband's meal... More

Touring downtown Asheville, we happened upon this delightful little eatery. I'd heard the name before, but wasn't sure when. We were hungry, and decided to go in. The Early Girl was noted for using only local produce and products creatively to enhance their menu of more Earthly Fare. If you are looking for a "Local" spot, with a "Natural" flair,... More
