I love sushi and carry out or dine in for sushi at least once per week. I recently moved to Asheville for 7 weeks and I was craving sushi. Wasabi had good reviews so I decided to call in an order. The Alaska roll and Blue Ridge Roll were delicious. This was the 2nd best sushi I have ever eaten!... More

After reading other reviews I was expecting this sushi to be the best I'd ever put in my mouth. Sadly, it fell a little flat for me. It was an average preparation and the plating wasn't anything spectacular. The appetizer (lobster salad wrapped in avocado) was outrageously amazing! But the sushi itself, the high point of the restaurant, left a... More

This Wasabi restaurant was not the national chain. It was a local restaurant and it was exceptional. I'm not a sushi eater so I can't critique that but the filet & chicken, vegetable plate, ginger and shrimp sauces were fantastic. Meal was not oily and "globby" like some Japanese meals. To top everything off, the fried vanilla ice cream was... More

We make sure to eat at Wasabi every time we visit Asheville. Sitting outside on the small deck area is a nice setting to enjoy the food and take in the city scenery. I highly recommend The Playboy Roll, it is excellent!!

Our daughter chose this for her 22 birthday dinner and she couldn't have picked better. it was packed but we had reservations and were seated immediately. The food came quickly and all agreed it was some of the best Japanese food we have ever eaten. The price was reasonable and we all left stuffed. We will be back.

We were in town for an event and thought it would be a good place to try after reading the reviews. I ordered sesame chicken and it was breaded chicken tenders with sesame seeds on the pieces. The sauce was brought in a bowl for dipping or pouring. The fried rice, which was $1.95 extra, was barely edible. My son... More

We had the ormament roll and it was fantastic!!!My husband had the chicken ramen soup and I had the nabeyake udon . Both soups were great, specially during a cold night. My kids had the... More

There is another sushi place in Asheville my wife and I visited and enjoyed previously and were planning to try them again. However, I came across Wasabi and learned they had been voted best in WNC for 10 years in a row. With a title like that, we had to try it. We were seated immediately without reservations on a... This place is located on a busy street so parking is difficult. The restaurant isn't large and can be cramped. The food was good (not outstanding). We ordered a few rolls. Red Dragon was our favorite. Service was great. FYI - they don't serve fried rice.

My husband and I wanted to try something new in Asheville (we love Japanese food!), so we stopped at Wasabi. My husband had some vegetable sushi as an appetizer and he said that it was very fresh and good, except there was a miniscule portion of Wasabi paste and ginger provided. Unfortunately, it was busy that night and I think... More
