Our dynamic menu is the passion of Executive Chef Adam. Adam has attained many influences through his training in Europe and New Orleans. Zambra is his modern vision of the tastes and flavors of the western Mediterranean: Spain, Portugal, Gypsy, and North Africa. As an appropriate accompaniment, we have assembled the region's finest selection of Spanish and New World wines. We have been awarded the Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence and our wine list has been voted the best in Asheville.

great local restaurant

We had 3 kids under 9 and 4 adults, so finding a restaurant where everyone is satisfied can be a challenge. Zambras hit on all cylinders, the kids had pizza and spaghetti (kid portions) but they were the same quality as the adults. Our Adults had pizza, gyro and sample platter, all prepared well... read more

If you're looking for "something different", then this is the place. The atmosphere is like eating in the Pirates of the Caribbean. Cuisine-wise, there are amazing selections of tapas that you can order over the course of an evening. Great place for a romantic meal.

We went in for a later night dinner. The dining area tables were booked but the lounge area had lots of open seating. We ordered several tapas and there was not a bad tapa in the bunch. Everything was very delicious! The sangria is amazing! Not quite like any sangria I have ever tasted, it is a must try!!!

When we do a weekend away we usually do one nice meal and one more casual meal. We chose this place as our nice meal and it didn't disappoint. The mixed greens salad was excellent. The buffalo chicken chimichangas were good as well. I also highly recommend the quail. Everything we had was good and the service as good as... More

Eleven college friends had dinner at Zambra last week while visiting Asheville. I had high expectations and they were exceeded. The tapas were amazingly delicious.. the pomegranate spring rolls, gnocci, watermelon/beet salad and everything else just a big YUM! The food was fast, fresh and delicious. Kudos to Mark -- he helped me prepare for the visit and to Peter... More

Zambra is such a fun dining experience. The atmosphere is romantic and intimate, yet very lively and energetic. Many of the small plates are paired so that each plate is a little meal. The pork cheek is tender and delicious and I always hope it is on the menu. The sangria is outstanding and desserts are special. It is a... More

On the recommendation of friends, we made reservations for a Monday night and enjoed it so much that we went back on Wednesday while spending the week in Asheville. On both visits we were seated in a romantic alcove that was reminiscent of a sultan's tent. The small plates were exquisitely prepared. Of special note is the Sesame Encrusted Scallops... More

It's fun to go with friends that like to share - order a ton of stuff and dig in. Good menu with lots of interesting flavors.

We went in a party of about a dozen, and got our own little hideaway in back. Looking at the menu online is misleading, because they had an additional 20 or so special items available on a separate menu. Everything was delicious, the food delivery was timely given the size of our party, and prices were lower than some other... More

One of the most romantic places we found in Asheville, and the food selection is really unique if you're up for trying different things. The portions are a bit small though and if you're hungry after dinner, there's something wrong. Great bar.
