Possibly the best portobello sandwich ever

We sat outside on a nice breezy day...we were very early for dinner (4:30-ish) and very few other diners there. I love that they had a great assortment of non-alcoholic drinks. I had blueberry ginger lemonade, which was delicious. My husband had a beer he really liked. We shared the Italian... read more

Friendly service, good fresh veggie food and plenty of options. Highly recommended if you are in Asheville.

Great location in downtown Asheville, indoor or outdoor seating, friendly staff. The only thing lacking was the food. It was okay but not the quality I expected from a restaurant in that location with a strong reputation. I went there twice hoping the first visit was just a bad day but the second trip was no better.

First I'll say that I really enjoyed the two dinners we had here. It's located centrally downtown, has outdoor seating and even though they were super busy they didn't rush us out. As far as the food goes I don't get what all the fuss is about. It's decent but nothing memorable or innovative.

We ate there twice, the second time because we read the reviews and thought the first time must have been an off night. Out of five meals served, we actually liked only one, the Thai Panang Curry. The grilled asparagus on the Blackened Porobello was also good. The others were okay but nothing either memorable or exciting. We are vegan.... More

The selection of beers, drinks and flavored waters was excellent, but I highly recommend the CPR Iced Tea! Great service on charming Wall Street.

My daughter and I are vegetarian. We love Laughing Seed! It's one of favorites in Asheville. Always a must eat when we visit. And then you can go downstairs to Jack of the Wood Pub to listen to great music and have a beer!

I live in Asheville, but don't eat downtown a lot due to parking and crowding. I had family in town, one is a vegetarian, so we wanted to go to a vegetarian restaurant and try some things. The vegetarian had the fried avocado tacos and said they were amazing. I am not even remotely vegetarian, but I had the Omega... More

I like to eat at this restaurant because it is close to the Grove Arcade shops and Wall Street boutiques. I had the grilled portobello mushroom burger with fries. The drinking water tasted very good. Our waitress said it is filtered 3X in house. The decor is cool and relaxing . My burger was delicious and came with spicy mustard,... More

This was our second time at Laughing Seed, once in October seated inside and this time outside on a fine-weather Saturday. We are not vegetarian but their veg,, vegan and gluten free menu choices are delicious. We had a quesadilla, salad and an Asian fusion salad to the satisfaction of all. Service was punctual and polite. Could become a regular... More
