What constitutes "New South Flavors?" For us, it is begins with reverence for those time-honored Southern dishes. Served up by wonderful home cooks for years. We respect the freshness, the flavors and the food itself. But we like to jazz it up a little, add something deliciously unexpected to delight your palate. Our interpretation of traditional Southern fare is creative, inventive and satisfyingly scrumptious. Cheers to New South Flavor!

Perfect Morning After Breakfast

After a reasonably boozy tour of Asheville's breweries and bars, Tupelo Honey Cafe was ideal to recover. I had the fried chicken and biscuits and it the hit the spot perfectly. The service was excellent, food wonderful, and it rounded off a great day and a bit in Asheville with aplomb.

Many people suggested Tupelo Honey, but I know this downtown location (the original) doesn't take reservations and often has a line. We went just before 6:00pm on a Sunday. When we arrived, we were told a 30 minute wait for a table which was fine. But then we were offered seats at the chef's bar with a full view of the... More

We enjoyed our brunch sitting at an outdoor table. The food and coffee were delicious. Our 7 year old loved her grilled cheese sandwich. The fried egg BLT was devoured. The grilled salmon was a bit overdone but still really tasty. Every one at the table wanted more of the mashed cheesy cauliflower we ordered. Coffee was tasty too.

This is an outstanding restaurant. Great food and friendly young staff awaiting to serve you. The kitchen does an excellent job in preparation, presentation, flavorful taste, quality & quantity. My wife and I shared the Venerated Veggie Bowl and don't let the description salad fool you-it's a meal. We started with Southern Fried Okra-yum! Drank some tea and a couple... More

First of all, we probably had the best server we've ever encountered in any restaurant ever. So charming and personable...we enjoyed chatting with him and that made our breakfast all the more enjoyable. He taught us all about tupelo honey (which is quite delicious, fyi) We arrived on a Tuesday morning at about 9:30 and there was one table left... More

Dinner begins with complementary scratch made biscuits with their signature honey and blueberry jam. Some of my favorites are their sweet potato pancakes; dinner: scallops, crab cakes; app: fried green tomatoes !!! Go and enjoy. outdoor seating and usually expect... More

Excellent breakfast, especially their biscuits and blueberry compote (which we also bought to take home). Try their signature sweet potato pancake, it's one big pancake! Excellent omelet too, and great service. We were in Asheville. It was relaxing and comfortable.

My husband, sister and brother in law had a wonderful lunch while touring Asheville. This was our 2 nd visit to Tupelo and my sisters first visit. We were seated quickly and our service was great. We all got something different and all the food was great. Can't say enought about the biscuits and jam they start you off with.... More

Very popular spot with good southern food. We have had breakfast with great biscuits. Can't beat the fried chicken.
