I had french toast, which was soggy & sort of tasteless. My hubby had a fried chicken BLT sandwich with spicy mayo. It was great!! But the gem of this place is the biscuit. They are so so so so good! I am not a huge biscuit fan but this is almost like really dense homemade bread Grama used to... more

My husband and I were told this is a must do and our friends were right. We waited for almost an hour and it was well worth the wait. I'm a seafood nut and couldn't believe how tender the shrimp in the shrimp and grits were. That dish is award winning IMHO, so many great flavors that tie together. Roasted... more

We ate here during Asheville's big music festival in July called Bele Chere and I am going mostly on what my partner said. All but one item on the menu at that time was grits and something! So southern influenced certainly! He loved it and I had the hamburger which was the ONLY thing at that time that was not... more

When we arrived, there was a bit of a wait for a table but it was totally worth it. Great lunch stop if you are walking around town. I wouldn't hesitate to go there again. more

Many locals recommended this as a great breakfast place. The menu was impressive and the food low end of good. The sad part was the service. We sat at the bar in front of a large cook and serve staff and had horrible service. When we were served the young lady made sure we knew we were lucky to have... more

Hard to add much to what has already been written. It's no wonder that this place is an institution in downtown Asheville, and that people wait patiently to get in. My wife and I went there for a late Sunday breakfast. She had the French toast and I had the special club omelet . . both were delicious. I'm not... more

Lunch was so delicious. We sampled many of their specialties and loved them all. Black Bean Burger, Fried Green Tomatoes, and Sweet Potato Pancakes were absolutely wonderful. Wish we could have stayed the night and tried breakfast the next day. Breakfast menu items looked amazing too. There was a wait when we got there but here's a tip.....stop by and... more
