Description: While we revere the time-honored traditions of the Southern cook, you will find our take on the Southern plate a little different. Because Tupelo Honey Cafe is a little different. Our transformation of just about everything Southern - from fried chicken to sweet potatoes to catfish - is decidedly spirited, independent, and frequently unscripted. Creativity rules in our kitchen where our larder is filled with scratch-made, inventive goodness. We ratchet up our flavors so they're on par with the farm-fresh produce we love. And we serve it all with a healthy measure of fun - with our heartfelt promise of delivering an experience worthy of the memories that tend to be made around our table.

Excellent Southern cooking; , large portions of food. There were 4 in our party and we all needed boxes because there was so much food! Delicious tasting. Wait staff, everyone friendly.

Loved the whole downtown Asheville area. This cafe was great. Loved the eclectic menu with great tasting food. A lot of different types of menu items available in great unusual combinations.

I love the north side way better than the Tupelo on the south end. The service is fast and the food is better. Everything I have gotten here is unique and yummy. GET THE SWEET POTATO FRIES!

Stop by if you're in the mood for good southern comfort food! They start you off with awesome homemade biscuits and blueberry jam. We tried the meatloaf and the fried chicken...both were great. But the sides stole the show..try the mac & cheese and benne coated asparagus! Atmosphere was fine but nothing special. We'd go back!

This was our first time at Tupelo Honey Cafe, we enjoyed it. Our teenage daughters split the Southern Plate and it was more than enough. We enjoyed the Tupelo Burger made with ground prime rib and it was very tasty. Try the Green man Porter which is delicious. The atmosphere is a little noisy but after all it is a... More

Good portions, food was average, but the biscuits and honey were great! Staff and service was good. Area can be sketchy.

The meal we had at Tupelo Honey Cafe was the best meal we had during our stay. Our waiter was excellent explaining the menu. His suggestions were spot on. The salmon was wonderful and oh those heavenly biscuits! I love the farm to table concept of this great restaurant.

I was really looking forward to visiting Tupelo and they didn't disappoint! I had a spinach salad and added the fried chicken. (If you're in the south, isn't it a requirement to have fried chicken?!) The spiced pecans, goat cheese, and pecan vinagrette proved to be unique, and exceptionally delicious, additions. The other ladies in my group ordered the sweet... More

Over the years I've had some really hit and miss meals at Tupelo Honey. The last one was pretty good but not as good as it use to be but a definite improvement over the last visit. Some things they never mess up, the biscuits. They are always perfect. As a local we usually wait and go in the off... More
