Description: While we revere the time-honored traditions of the Southern cook, you will find our take on the Southern plate a little different. Because Tupelo Honey Cafe is a little different. Our transformation of just about everything Southern - from fried chicken to sweet potatoes to catfish - is decidedly spirited, independent, and frequently unscripted. Creativity rules in our kitchen where our larder is filled with scratch-made, inventive goodness. We ratchet up our flavors so they're on par with the farm-fresh produce we love. And we serve it all with a healthy measure of fun - with our heartfelt promise of delivering an experience worthy of the memories that tend to be made around our table.

Crowded and upbeat restaurant. Expect a wait. Enjoyed pecan crusted chicken and wonderful biscuits. Am looking forward to eating breakfast at Tupelo next time.

Breakfast was good, but the biscuits were heavenly. Hands down the best biscuit i have ever had and I've eaten a lot of biscuits.

We had catfish and meatloaf, both were delicious and large portions. Fried green tomatoes and sides also very good.

After many years of visiting Asheville we were finally able to take in brunch at the storied Tupelo Honey. The wait is long - as mentioned - they have a nice way to page your cell phone when your table is ready. We love okra and the starter dish did not disappoint. Love the staff - very upbeat and pay... The food was good and the staff was very nice. My favorite part was the jelly. I got a jar to go. I'm not sure I'd go back, but I enjoyed my experience.

It took far longer to get in than we were originally told (about 45 minutes vs. 20). Food was very good. Pickled ocra and pickled onions were novelties. My meatloaf was very tasty and by wife enjoyed her vegetable platter. The onion soup was very good.

Its been almost two years to the month since I visited Tupelo Honey. I stopped in for lunch on 12/31 and as expected approximately an hours wait. They now text you when your table is ready, so after some walking and shopping, almost right at an hour our table was ready. I was introducing a first time client to the... More

We were told that this restaurant was amazing and that we should be sure to have breakfast and dinner there. We tried to get ino the restaurant for breakfast on at least three occasions, but the line stretched nearly half a block even at 9 AM in the morning. We finally made it for dinner, but was disappointed. We were... More

Now there is almost always a wait but this gem downtown is worth it. The best biscuits in town, either location. I like the southern flair and hearty portions.

The wait may be long but the food inside is worth it. It is a bit noisy and tables tightly packed together so not a good place for conversing. I still highly recommend it.
