Description: While we revere the time-honored traditions of the Southern cook, you will find our take on the Southern plate a little different. Because Tupelo Honey Cafe is a little different. Our transformation of just about everything Southern - from fried chicken to sweet potatoes to catfish - is decidedly spirited, independent, and frequently unscripted. Creativity rules in our kitchen where our larder is filled with scratch-made, inventive goodness. We ratchet up our flavors so they're on par with the farm-fresh produce we love. And we serve it all with a healthy measure of fun - with our heartfelt promise of delivering an experience worthy of the memories that tend to be made around our table.

This place was amazing! I had the grits and shrimp, my daughter had the pecan fried chicken and my husband meat loaf. I wish there was a place in Alabama like this. Don't pass this little resturant up

We stopped by for lunch on a Tuesday around 2pm and the restaurant was crowded; we took the last table outside (which is a pretty small area). Tupelo Honey is packed for a good reason-great food! We just loved the play on the southern comfort foods. Who knew pimento cheese and green tomatoes in a sandwich could taste soooo good.... More

If you've love Tupelo Honey in Asheville, you'll be pleased to find them in Charlotte. The restaurant is beautiful. Bright, clean and warm decor- not the gritty atmosphere of downtown Asheville's store, but our own Charlotte flavor. The food is excellent. You'd expect perfect biscuits and rich jams and they deliver! Excellent sandwiches and hot meals. A place to drop... More

As a snob, I'm a guy who wants to knock down a place that has so many high ratings, but Tupelo Honey has earned their rank in the competitive Asheville restaurant scene. Food, service, and atmosphere are all excellent. Just be prepared for a long wait during peak times.

My husband and I visited for dinner. We had a little bit of a wait for a table as the restaurant was packed but it was well worth it! I had the shrimp and grits and it was fantastic! my husband ordered the meatloaf with Mac and cheese and enjoyed them as well. Both serving sizes were large, enough to... More

We had tried to get into another place but the wait was too long so we walked down to this place suggested by the hotel. Glad we did. We wanted to sit outside but there was a wait for the patio so since we were hungry went ahead and took an inside table. The service was good. We shared the... More

Original location still has a great biscuit, tasty and hearty fare. Many original dishes remain and we didn't notice any drop off in quality from our visit 2 years ago despite warnings that it is becoming more of a chain.

Was in the Asheville area for business and one of our local partners recommended Tupelo Honey Cafe. The big draw for me was when he mentioned the shrimp & grits, which turned out to be very good ... especially if you like it a bit spicy. As others have mentioned, it is crowded and the tables are indeed close together.... More

The food was very good. I got the shrimp and grits and let me say it was very tastey. I am not a big fan of biscuits but they were very good with the jelly and honey. It was very cramped the tables are just about on top of each other. Our waiter was great. Overall a great place to... More
