After reading such excellent reviews, was looking forward to a mid-afternoon pick me up with a friend. Not to be. I enquired about the ingredients in the Graham Cracker Cake, and received an explanation that made no sense - which should have warned me away. Cake was dry and supposed Caramel Buttercream Frosting was flavorless with a waxy consistency. My... More

The cookies, etc., are great ... but the mango sorbet, which they have during the summer, is practically a metaphysical experience!

The pies, cakes, cookies are to die for. Have been enjoying these since opened. The pies are made with very fresh ingredients and do NOT have a ton of sugar. Had a birthday cake (Choc. Raspberry) made and words will not describe this confection!! Lunch items are also freshly made and coffee is so good. Enjoying sitting outside while devouring... More

A really nice bakery cafe on the Grove Mall. Outdoor seating, dog friendly, very good coffee and homemade coffee cake, apple cake, quiche, and scones. Friendly people too, made for a good morning in Asheville.

My wife was looking everywhere for bread pudding and she found it with the Grove Arcade. True Confections is a smaller establishment that is big in the personal attention to the products that they produce. I personally do not have a desire for sweets, but I did find myself looking over all of the treats that were offered. Everything looked... More

Easy place to get to. Husband had ham biscuit and I had banana bread which was fine, if a little dry. They only give one refill of coffee which I thought was a little cheesy considering the cost of things.

My husband & I love to sit outside at True Confections every afternoon and "people watch". In the summer, we drink iced coffee (really is the best in Asheville) and in the winter we sit inside and have latte or cafe' au lait. Carol is an incredible baker! Cookies, pies, biscotti are all superb!! Make this one of your stops when... More

Had a cappuccino and macchiato at True Confections this morning. They were very good, but the owner seemed to have a chip on her shoulder, telling me very nastily that my drink wouldn't be like Starbucks. Every comment I made or question I asked, she answered rudely. Then when I attempted to swish my little espresso cup with a dash... More

A lovely little bakery one block off the Asheville downtown square. My wife and I were looking for outdoor tables to enjoy a morning cup of coffee and maybe a bite to eat. We stumbled across Carole's bakery in mid morning. My wife says "This is the type of place that might have a good quiche. Sure enough, they bake... More
