We stopped in for a quick bite around 2:00. No one told us what to do (wait or seat your self). Waited a bit and walked around to find someone who worked there. Found a server adjusting the mixing board and he gestured us to find our own table. Waitress took a while to show up. We ordered water and... More

Although Jack of the Wood boasts so many different types of beer on tap and local brewed bottles, the selection was not very varied. Lots of Belgian, whitte type beers which is not my taste at all. There is a downstairs and main floor, both with very simple seating and bars. No frills, more locals than I expected, nothing special.

We went by for a beer and some music. We found our own place to sit - had to clear it ourselves. The seats were uncomfortable - but not atypical. We waved down a server and I asked a question about the beer selection but she wasn't all that interested in it. My friend helped with my decision. The beer... More

Decent food, average priced and had a great bluegrass band playing. Nice, laid back place. Servers were knowledgeable about the food and drink specials. Kind of dark, on the small side.

we have eaten at Jack of the Woods at least a half dozen times and never been disappointed. Well sometimes we're disappointed when we're not close to the stage and the Sunday traditional Celtic music is hard to hear but then you're in a pub And a very fine one. The menu is small but there are plenty of choices... More

Awesome energy and great music. Bartenders were very knowledgeable about the beers and history of the brewing of said beers. Music was great, Appalachian and blue grass. Awesome vibe.

Loved their homemade chips w smoked tomato blue cheese jalapeño dip. The music scene here feels terrific. Loved the craft beer too.

Enjoyed a snack of their homemade chips w smoked tomato blue cheese jalapeño dip. Many craft beers, and local string musicians drop in to jam. Food I saw (burgers, salmon, salads) looked good. Fun people watching.

While visiting Asheville, we visited Jack of the Wood 3 times. Twice for music (bluegrass one night and Celtic the next), and once to grab a quick drink before shopping. The staff are super friendly and always helpful. We never ordered food here due to having other plans, but the food that came out of the kitchen looked very good.... More
