Could have sat all night and listened to the music.

Stopped here on a Friday, early afternoon to grab a bite and kill some time. It turned out to be a great place to listen to music. If we didn't have to leave we would have stayed all night. Place was packed at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. Hot cider was too sweet. Loved the Scotch egg. Bison burger was fantastic. about $20-25 per person with booze, excluding tip. We were short-term visitors to Asheville, looking for some good, authentic music, and were guided to Jack in the Wood. Great choice - terrific music, friendly crowd, bar food if you want it, only a $5 cover on a Saturday night.

This pub features jamming by local fiddle/banjo/guitar bluegrass players. It's a pub menu, so it's limited but tasty and affordable. We'll go back for sure!

The atmosphere is unbeatable. We went on a Sunday for Irish night. The music fit the atmosphere making it so relaxing and enjoyable. The food was top notch. I highly recommend it day or night. I will absolutely be back.

Visited with my wife, we just wanted to head downtown and find some entertainment. They had a good bluegrass band. It was a fun atmosphere, a little crowded, and we had to wait 20 minutes for a spot at the bar, but it was worth it. Not too expensive. We spent a couple of hours just relaxing and having fun.

My boyfriend and I visited over the last weekend and decided to brave the cold and walk from the indigo hotel to get some dinner. Needless to say, we lucked out!! We both tried the locally brewed beers, which were very good. I got a burger which was fantastic. I would almost be tempted to drive 2 hours back to... More

Ate here on the advice of the staff at Residence Inn at Biltmore. Beer was Green Man, fresh, served at the right temperature. Many restaurants serve craft beer too cold, Jack in the Woods served it cool, but not warm, not cold, just right. Seating was tight, we got there about 715, later and seating was impossible. Food was so... More

Best pub burger ever! Food was outstanding. Service was a bit slow but it was busy and it appeared to be a little understaffed. Overall a very good experience and again, excellent burger and fries.

The environment is really great! It's like being in a pub, in Ireland, in the early 1800's... The food is really good too! However... On this occasion, our server was HORRIBLE! So horrible, she didn't even tell us her name, didn't stop by to ask if we needed anything, or bother to glance at us while passing right by us.... More
