This place is incredible - definitely on my top 10! They take vegan cuisine to an art form with flavors that absolutely shine with perfection. Highly recommend Plant for an outstanding dinner. We will return for sure!

Though I am not a vegetarian by any means, I have enjoyed vegan gourmet cuisine before. But never (and I mean never) was it this good in both presentation and taste. My wife and I started with drinks; red wine “Tamas “Double Decker” Syrah” for her, and a bourbon hot toddy (a seasonal special) for me (make that two). We... More

This dinner at "Plant" restaurant was a spur of the moment decision by a group of 4 of us after a weekend seminar in Asheville, N.C. We were smart enough to make a last minute reservation, & were glad we did, as the place was crowded, with a line-up waiting. We sat outside on a warm October night, with a... More

Reviews here and on Chowhound raved about Plant, so I picked it as our last-night-of-vacation dinner. I'm mostly vegetarian, often vegan, so I was anticipating being wowed. Our first course, those brussels sprouts, were great, with a tangy spicy sauce. I'd happily make them at home. Then came the mains, which were beautifully presented but tastewise meh. Applewood smoked Porto'House... More

On the hunt for new veg ideas I didn't expect such high standards in presentation of the food. Really wonderful experience. Small and funky place with open kitchen it was realtively quiet even when very busy - we could talk with ease and enjoy our glass of wine and delicious food. The portions are generous. Few small details will make... More

Cashew cheese appetizer was delicious, my portobello mushroom entree with crispy polenta had a great presentation and taste to match. But the highlight of the evening was the dense flour less chocolate peanut butter pie. It tasted better than a Reese's peanut butter cup. Although everything is vegan this is a top spot for any type of eater.

My husband and I went to Plant for dinner while we were visiting Asheville. They don't use any animal products including dairy and eggs. Dinner was very filling so we didn't have room for dessert. However, just before leaving, I glanced at the dessert menu and the Blackout Pie caught my eye. It seemed so good that I decided we... More

I'm not a vegan so there wasn't a lot of choice on the menu for me but what I did have was very good. I began with the fingerling frites which were very good. I followed with brussel sprouts that I enjoyed a lot. I don't understand what my wife had but she liked it a lot.

The cheese plate is a must! Delicious, amazing food. Well worth the 25 minute, snowy, uphill walk from downtown. My meat-eating husband agrees that it is the best restaurant in Asheville, maybe even the world.
