Great concept

Great appetizers but entrees not as great as expected. Cannoli's amazing.. will return for dessert!! Neat restaurant but not a place to linger. Tables close together, temperature warm inside, hard chairs... service great.

Had dinner last night at this restaurant with friends and ALL the food was beyond tasty. Not to be a cliche, but your tastebuds will thank you. We sampled a variety of appetizers (plantains, beets, broccoli). The main course was an astonishing raw, vegan lasagne crudo, which still sings in my food memory. Dessert was the richest vegan ice cream... More

Searching for vegetarian and came across this restaurant which was very close to the Hill House B&B where we were staying. Wonderful food!! Though the atmosphere outside isn't the best - our table overlooked the parking lot. But the food was worth it.

My husband and I had dinner here for our anniversary during a recent trip to Asheville. It was fantastic. Even though we had reservations, we had to wait for a table, but that was fine. They were just so busy! Every dish we we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. For appetizers we had the plantains and the jerusalem artichokes... More

The appetizers and entrees were so unusual, healthy and delicious. Our waitress made excellent suggestions. Every item was more delicious than the next and we even had dessert!

This was my first time eating at a vegan restaurant and it certainly won't be my last. As a lifelong omnivore, I was skeptical about how palatable the food here would be but I was not at all disappointed. This was some of the best food I've had in my life. We had the fried plantains as an appetizer --... More

Plant is a treat for vegans and omnivores alike. It was recommended by some friends, and we liked it so much, we ate there twice during our visit to Asheville. I suggest reservations, especially on weekends, as it's a small space with a devoted clientele.

After reading the online reviews, we had reservations for this place our first of two nights in Asheville, Because it can be tempting to try several items, I recommend going with as several people. Although not specified online, the selections on the top to middle part of the menu can be made as smaller plates. Our favorite was EASILY the... More

It is wonderful to see the burgeoning rise in restaurants featuring vegan and vegetarian cuisines. Plant has a somewhat inventive menu, but nowhere near the inventiveness of vegan restaurants in major metropolitan areas (eg, Vedge in Philadelphia, Greens in SF). Heavy handed assaults of garlic and pepper take control of any complexity or subtlety the cuisine can offer. Unfortunately, while... More

So many unique and inventive dishes, and a great atmosphere. Wish we had known just a little bit more about the Jerusalem Artichoke before we ordered it, but we'll "own" that one. The faux cream cheese that came with it was really an awesome creation though. The Zucchini Masala was another creative effort but was overly salted as was the... More
