Unique bar that was actually a fire escape of a very old building in Asheville. An elevator man takes you up to the 8th floor and you can choose to stay on the level or go down to 7th or 6th floors. A great view for a sunset. Busiest on Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

Outstanding views, unique venue

Literally just a fire escape where drinks and light fare are served, this venue hangs off the side of the Flat Iron Building facing west for stunning Blue Ridge sunsets and star gazing. Good cocktails, decent grub...service is generally ok. But the view...untouchable. Highly recommended.

Take a manually operated elevator by an attendant up to the top three floors of the Flatiron building where you can step out onto a balcony and enjoy the sunset over the mountains! The top balcony is standing room only with a few cocktail tables and the bottom two levels have seating. There is music playing through some speakers and... More

Located in the historic flatiron building in down town Asheville, sky bar is a great spot for delicious and inventive cocktails. Think infused liquors with inventive mixers. Located on the top floor of a gorgeous art deco historic building, high above the Asheville skyline with a view of the historic grove arcade and mountains beyond. There are three floors with... We were walking down the street and my mom saw a few levels of rooftop/balcony dining. At first we thought maybe it was just someone's home, but then saw a sign for the sky bar. You go up a 1920's style elevator (with an elevator man) and then can stand (with hightop tables and ledges) or go to another level... More

The bar is not rooftop. It's actually on the side of the building. The view is great. The drinks were interesting. Order some of their specialty drinks. Be aware they open at 4:00 PM.

I think its all been said - great experience, great view, great handcrafted drinks (even though some people don't seem to realize the specialty ingredients or brands of hard to find mixers), pricey but generous drinks (except the beer - bottles of local 12 oz at $7, when most bars serve 16 oz local draft at $3-6). Service is friendly,... More

We mainly came to the Sky Bar for the view of Asheville. The view was good, but nothing to be blown away by. The drinks were also good. However the service was very poor. We waited for 40 minutes on our check, and had to ask for it 3 times. One time the lady looked at us like we were... More

I almost didn't come here during my stop to Asheville because of some of the reviews I read about drink prices, but I'm so glad I did. Drinks are not very expensive and even so if you are visiting, the view is worth it. There is a one drink minimum but that have a great variety. The staff comes to... More

Stunning views after arriving in an old-timey elevator with an operator! The fire escape setting facing the western mountains is gorgeous but it's hard to get one of their $10 drinks due to poor service.

The drinks are incredible and the view is unmatched, go there, have the sky thai, and take in the mountain air with someone you love
