Unique bar that was actually a fire escape of a very old building in Asheville. An elevator man takes you up to the 8th floor and you can choose to stay on the level or go down to 7th or 6th floors. A great view for a sunset. Busiest on Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

Snowy, Cold and Closed for Winter but Still a Great Veiw

This place is great for a drink a days end. Way up in the Flat Iron building the views are great of the Grove Arcade and surrounding mountains. If you go when there is not snow everywhere like I did, they might even serve you a beverage.

I absolutely LOVED this place. The view is spectacular, the atmosphere is chic and the music is fantastic (think "lounge" style). Makes you feel like a million bucks. With three stories, up in the sky, a drink and cigar in hand---this place has become my favorite bar in Asheville. The bartenders come to you to get your drink order and... More

We've been several times. It's a novelty. Nothing special about menu or drinks. Location, location, location is the key. Fun place to take friends for a few drinks before/after dinner or a show. View is spectacular. Service is friendly but slow when they get busy.

Go for the view because there ain't much else. Small space, no seating, good drinks. That's all folks!

This is an outdoor bar that is located on what seems to be an old fire escape in the flatiron style building downtown. The bar is not always open so make sure you have a back up plan. When the bar is open it is in the evenings. The bar is open in the winter when it is not too... More

Planned one night of our trip around going to this bar. Went to it, elevator was locked, and lady at coffee bar said it was closed / only open on summer weekends. Very disappointed and had to scramble to regroup our plans, as I had even checked their hours on Facebook and no mention of being closed in winter.

We were in Asheville for a girls trip, saw this place from across the street and wandered over. I was hesitant to deal with a wait (though it was a short one) but was surprised at the good time we had. Crowds and small spaces are typically not my thing, but from the elevator ride to the view to the... More

Overpriced bar trying to be something you would see in a larger city but in Asheville it just feels pretentious and out of place.

This is an Asheville must do! Step on the old time elevator to the top of the building - remember to tip the elevator worker! Drinks are a little on the pricey side - about $10/each - but made well and worth every penny. If the weather is bad or you don't feel like sitting outside, they also have a... More

Tried to go for the view and drinks at 5:00pm before dinner. We had no idea the elevator was a required part of the "experience" so we took the stairs. Apparently that's a big no no but it was the very rude way the doorman told us that was disappointing. We also had our teenage son with us who was... More
