Description: Unique bar that was actually a fire escape of a very old building in Asheville. An elevator man takes you up to the 8th floor and you can choose to stay on the level or go down to 7th or 6th floors. A great view for a sunset. Busiest on Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

The bar is on a fire escape with a great view of the city. The ride up is on an old elevator with a "driver". Not many of these anymore. The drinks are good, but the service is generally slow. The waiters have a lot of climbing to do. It is a fun place to visit and have a drink... More

I'm a local but didn't know about this place until my wife and I happened upon the sign outside the building while walking downtown. The hostess in the lobby was very informative and convinced us to go up and take a look. I can't comment on the food because we didn't order any. We stayed on the top floor and... More

Visited the week of August 4th with my wife. This Sky Bar is billed as a roof top bar, at least the website's we researched- "The Sky Bar offers drinks with an amazing view from the top of the Flat Iron Building. It's mostly outside, so not open in winter months" This is a fire escape, close to the top... More

From the moment we walked in we were greeted warmly and were very impressed with everyone's friendly service, especially by our elevator operator. He wasn't joking when he recommended water when you first arrive. The drinks are strong and delicious. When in Asheville it is something to experience at least once. Nice view of downtown Asheville and the drinks were... More

Great place for a drink with someone special while you enjoy scenic Asheville. A very cool concept that was well executed. Who would have thought that a fire escape could be a great spot for craft drinks? You gotta' try this place out at least once. Great service and atmosphere!

The views were fantastic and the drinks unique and very tasty. This definitely isn't a place to go if you want fast service but the servers were very friendly regardless. Lobby hostess and elevator operator were also very friendly and welcoming.

This is the strangest martini bar I've ever been to. You experience starts with the list operator. He elevates you to the 9th floor of the Flatiron building, and gives the protocol -- there are no bartenders at this bar; you just pick a spot and a server will take your order and make your drink. The view of the... More

Love the vibe in this coffee house. So wanted to try the pastries. Will definitely make a point of it next time. My cafe latte was made to perfection, thanks to the girl with the cool Scott Harris Glasses! :) I so wanted to stop by again on my way back to Charlotte.

Read the reviews so you're not expecting a traditional bar. Great drinks but not cheap. Great views of the area and Joe treated us fantastic. The service was fast and friendly.

We stopped in at midday to sit down and get view from up top of downtown Asheville. We enjoyed old time elevator, and the few old time pictures the had on walls. I would suggest the get many more of those to create better ambiance inside. Drinks were good but a little pricey. View was great, nice pit stop after... More
