What constitutes "New South Flavors?" For us, it is begins with reverence for those time-honored Southern dishes. Served up by wonderful home cooks for years. We respect the freshness, the flavors and the food itself. But we like to jazz it up a little, add something deliciously unexpected to delight your palate. Our interpretation of traditional Southern fare is creative, inventive and satisfyingly scrumptious. Cheers to New South Flavor!

Great restaurant - maybe not one of the best meals we've ever had, but excellent.

We were able to make a reservation on line, even though we were only a party of two. No waiting when we arrived. Very interesting menu and everything we ordered was wonderful, presented beautifully. Service was excellent. When we tried to visit downtown during the day (on a Saturday) we had a terrible time finding parking. Therefore, when we were... More

Have to admit I was with a group that had prechose this place to eat on our expedition to Asheville. While I didn't find a lot I liked on the online menu, I ended up with the Atlantic salmon, which was very good, though the bottom was slightly burned. We got quick seating with reservations, even though the place was... More

The older, first version of this restaurant in downtown Asheville has a better than deserved reputation but is horribly hard to get into and cramped once you get to a table. This newer location in South Asheville is also packed and one should expect to wait but there is seriously nothing worth waiting for. The food is assembly line stuff,... More

My wife and I have eaten here several times over the years. We've gone out of our way because the food has always been exceptional. Last night, however, was a big disappointment. Sometimes growing bigger is not better. Their legendary biscuits have been replaced with doughy drop biscuits that are not even brown on top. HUGE fail on their part.... More

Selection was very limited for children and not many healthy choices. The "sweet potato" pancakes were ruined with too much all-spice (more is not better in this case). The service was slow and had too many customers to take care of. The price was premium to pay for the atmosphere and location I presume.

I was here over this past weekend, and like another reviewer stated we did wait a long time to be seated. I was really disappointed in the food. My chicken sandwich tasted like it had been microwaved...The lettuce was hot, lettuce should never be hot. The bun was so hot I could barely touch it, I knew it had been... More

We ate here on the way to Florida and on our way back home. The biscuits are still great, so are the grits. On my trip down my grilled cheese with bacon was very good along with the onion bisque soup. Very happy with my meal. On my way home I ordered the shoo mercy shrimp and grits, which I... More

Was in last night with some friends, and we waited over an hour to be seated. I walked around a few times while we were waiting. I saw four or more empty tables that needed to be cleaned off. Why was nobody cleaning those tables when there were tons of hungry people waiting to be seated??? Does this place even... More

We went to Tupelo Honey for the first time after the menu change, and weren't terribly pleased. They shrunk the size of their biscuits (we noticed that before, actually). I had a fried chicken dish that had the smallest amount of fried chicken I've ever had. My wife sorely misses the Venerated Veggie Bowl - she had that every time... More

I love the biscuits with jam (and of course Tupelo honey) served at the table, but remember to ask for butter! The food is creative, fresh, and affordable with a pleasant un-rushed atmosphere.
