Great Tapas in Asheville

A second trip to Curate was as good as the first. It is a difficult restaurant to get into so make a reservation. The white Sangria is delicious. The meat and cheese sampler was a nice way to start. Moving on to Moroccan spiced lamb kebabs, a wilted spinach salad, then the shrimp in broth. The... read more

I was a bit surprised with the high ratings on Trip Advisor. Yes, the food was delicious. However, we spent about an extra $20 for the two of us and left feeling hungry. I am a light eater too. There are plenty of other places in Asheville where you can get more for your $$ and still get amazing food.

Loved the small plates and ability to share it all. Some dishes were better than others but that's the fun in ordering a bunch and try it all. Good wine list. Jesse was a great server!

I am a local here in Asheville for the past 9 years and have heard what a great place Curate was. I was so unhappy with the food, the atmosphere and even the service. I read about their "world famous" shrimp, but what I got seemed to be shrimp cooked in chicken broth with some fresh green twigs on top...not... More

This is a top notch restaurant with unusual tapas and great service. Been many times and always hard to choose from the delicious menu. Only problem is its popularity, hard to get in without a reservation made way in advance. But worth the effort

Curate was highly suggested by friends, though they said you'll never get in spur of the moment! Well, they were wrong ... called at noon and got two seats at 8:00 at the communal table which is an experience all its own! Great waitstaff who explained and suggested dishes. The compressed watermelon salad was layers of flavor and learned about... More

On our trip to Asheville, we ate at wonderful restaurants. Given its reputation, we saved Curate for our last meal. And we were happy we did. It is a cut above the other fine restaurants. The best way to help the reader is to describe some of the dishes we had. The food is served Tapas style, so there were... More

Always excellent Only problem is it is always full of tourists so it is hard for us locals to get a table unless you plan way ahead. For that reason it is more a special occasion destination rather than a where can we go tonight kind of place

Just seems over-rated and over-priced. They do lots of marketing and it works. But hey, other reviews like it. It's just that we've tried it 4 times and there are better places.

This is one of our favorite downtown Asheville restaurants, and it is for other people as well - as the challenge of making a reservation almost any evening testifies. The seating is adequate, but one can feel a little squeezed-in depending on where the host puts you. With such a popular venue you may have to raise your voice a... More
