Four old friends from across the South were taken to Curate by our friend, a local, to experience a tapas lunch. Our server showed great patience as she gently led us away from each ordering our own "tapa" to the idea of sharing small plates. We tried so many wonderful dishes, usually getting two orders, so we would have plenty... More

After eating dinner at another restaurant, we wanted to walk around for a bit and then grab dessert and a coffee somewhere else. As we walked by Curate, we knew this was where we wanted to stop. The decor is relatively simple, but the long bar in front of the open kitchen is the place to sit. We did not... More

We decided to eat at Curate on the basis of a magazine review. Best read I have had in a long time. The food and experience here is absolutely wonderful! I don't list it as one of the best meals I have ever had in a restaurant, only because it is not an establishment like Paul Bocuse, Fredy Girardet, Tru,... More

We were taken by an Asheville resident to Curete. We benefitted from her early evening reservation by being seated immediately and having our waiter's time and attention. As the meal progressed we saw less of a very busy Eric who had offered ample guidance in ordering and explaining. Also quite charming and proud of the establishment. Favorite at our table... More

It is a must if you are in Asheville! Only problem: Make reservations at least 2 weeks in advance or do what we did go there late night and see what cancelations may have happened. From start to finish you will enjoy the service the Dirty Martine and the food! Have the Shrimp with sliced Garlic, the plate with all... More

It seems I cannot resist taking out of town guests to Curate to eat. Maybe it's just an excuse to eat the fabulous tapas and enjoy the perfect service. And I mean perfect. In all of my visits, I have never had bad service. And I have never had a bad serving of that eggplant dish with the honey and... More

If the reservation list is full, ask for reserved seats at the bar, which is more fun anyway since you can watch and interact with the kitchen staff. It's a very eclectic tapas menu, but some things that stood out were the potato chip-wrapped sausages, stuffed peppers, meatballs, cheese plate, lamb skewers and shrimp. If you tell them you're celebrating... More

Delicious tapas! Want to try something a little different! This is the ideal place. Authentic spanish charcuterie, knowledgeable servers. I highly recommend sitting at the bar and watching the line chefs prepare the dishes!

It is worth visiting Asheville for its food culture. Many big chefs here, Katie Button, the founder of Curate leads the ranks. She worked at El Bulli in Spain before opening Curate (yes, the restaurant with the 3 year wait list when it was open). You need to make your reservation at Curate way in advance. As we were waiting... More
