Best ice cream ever!

We visited the Hop solely based on a review from Yelp and are so glad we did. This is by far the best ice cream I have ever had. The flavors are unique, the service great and it's made right in Asheville. Love!

We enjoyed getting a taste of a few unique homemade vegan ice cream flavors here (including blueberry kale- awesome!) they also serve doggy ice cream and dogs are allowed in the shop.. Can't get more awesome than that! The girl serving our ice cream gave us a lot of insight into great local areas to hike.. Thank you:)

We stopped by here on the advice of our waiter. Very peculiar smell when you enter. It almost made me leave, but I didn't. The ice cream is very good. They don't explain what the ice creams with special names actually are, no description of what it is. Like Dracula's blood or some Aztec thing which was dark chocolate with... More

Now that we have been to The Hop several times I feel I can put in my honest review. My wife and I have gone on our own, with our kids, and for a birthday party. There is usually a good selection of flavors, but sometimes you may strike out. Fortunately the time it happened to me, a staff member... More

Hit the spot on a sunny afternoon. There were some unusual flavors, some vegan and some gluten free. I stuck with the salted caramel and the chocolate coconut. The chocolate coconut was really chocolaty and very flavorful.

The ice cream is made from scratch and boy is it amazing...! They have traditional type ice cream and some amazing differ net favors. They have case with vegan options. Because of my dietary issues, I chose a banana ice cream as it has no added sugars. Just bananas to sweeten it...!! First ice cream I have eaten in almost... More

Their ice cream is certainly very good but it's not the best that I've ever had. Their flavors tend to be a little limited by their trying to be inventive and creative by doing off-the-wall type flavors that are indeed, interesting, but not really great. Sometimes ice cream just needs to be tasty and not weird.

I had chocolate orange that was really decadent, their salted caramel was also quite good, but they have Honey Lavender, Sirachia Boiled Peanut, and some really intriguing flavors. The artwork on the walls was adorable too, great place to take kids!

The Hop Ice Cream Cafe seemed to me to be an Old Fashioned Soda Fountain but it lacked atmosphere. My hot fudge sundae made with homemade carmel salt ice cream and wet walnuts would have tasted so much better in a sundae cup. It was good and the hot fudge and whipped cream were homemade, but the place lacked atmosphere.... More

Amazing ice cream. Everything is made in house with local ingredients. All sorts of flavors from the usual suspects to the crazy (mustard anyone?). They have all kinds of vegan and vegetarian options too. They even have ice cream for dogs. This is the place in Asheville for ice cream. Go to all their locations!
