Best authentic Indian food I've had in NC. Service is friendly and knowledgeable and the dishes are creative and delicious. Right kind of food and portion for the price.

We knew this was a great place to eat when we arrived 15 minutes before opening and there was already a line of people. The restaurant opened with a 45 minute wait, so go early or be prepared to wait. The food is nothing short of amazing, and I enjoyed the best Dal Makhani I've ever eaten! Beautiful location, friendly... More

Either meeting a friend for lunch, eating out for dinner in a group, or even eating there alone, I always enjoy my meals at Chai Pani. From an Indian sandwich wrap to a dinner the way they serve it at home in India, I enjoy every bite. A great appetizer to share between friends: Matchstick Okra Fries. A few times,... More

We had read earlier reviews. We were not disappointed. The location, food and the employees are all excellent. We ordered two entries and enjoyed both thoroughly. The waitress was very patient and attended to all our requests. We recommend this to any one who wants to taste a different world.

My wife and I had a wonderful meal here on a Friday night while in Asheville. She has been to India and commented on how authentic the food was. The food was recently priced, featured 2 great specials and the drinks were affordable. Go early, as this is a very popular restaurant and gets crowded. It can be loud but... More

We stopped at Chai Pani to pick up a portable dinner to take to Taming of the Shrew in Montford Park. The waitress and bartender that took care of us were extremely nice and made us feel welcome. The service was very efficient. I had very high expectations, based on the plethora of enthusiastic reviews. Everything about our dinner surpassed... More

Savory food at great prices. This is the real stuff and you will know it as soon as the spicy aromas hit you. Great addition to Asheville's restaurant scene. Many vegetarian offerings. Try the wraps and samosas if you are not sure what to order. The wait staff will make sure you are happy.

My husband and I had lunch there, our first visit, and wow! The variety of bursting flavors from the foods! First, I had iced chai, which was delicious, and served unsweetened. I like that as I could add the right amount of sweetness (most places serve it too sweet). Simple syrup was offered for the sweetener. Now, the food. My... More
