Quirky, fun, reasonably priced, and definitely NOT your mothers tandoor chicken! Foods you won't find at "those" indian restaurants. Definitely worth a visit.

I was first totally intrigued by the idea of Indian street food, then totally hooked. We ate for lunch and I wasn't too terribly hungry, so I got an appetizer of a samosa dish and it was perfet. This plate was nicely spiced- those who enjoy the heat will not be disappointed, but won't leave with eyes watering, either. Everyone... More

Excellent food, nice atmosphere at a great price. We especially loved their samosas! Situated in downtown Asheville. We will come back!

we had dinner at Chai Pani this evening. I had the Sloppy Jai, "Spicy lamb hash cooked with tomatoes, potatoes and aromatic spices.Garnished with onions & cilantro, sweet yogurt and served on a toasted bun". It was quite tasty but the portion was smaller than we expected for the price. My husband got the Mango Lassi to drink - a... More

Authentic flavors and quite the scene. The mango lassie is one of the best! Everything I ate tasted unique a flavorful with our being overwhelming. Go there after your visit to the Black Mountain College Museum.

We have food allergies and the waiter was great and made sure everything was cooked correctly. We had Malabar chik thali and vada pav it was great. Will return before we leave Asheville. This restaurant is very accommodating with food restrictions.

Great service, fun atmosphere. Amazing food. Something for everyone. We probably spent 3 hours here for New Year's dinner. Didn't want to leave! Great memories at this place.

I was wandering tourist in Asheville and happen upon this restaurant. The greeter outside was warm and inviting but the service inside was not. Not that people were rude. It seems to be a place where you have to take care of yourself. I did like the pictures and art work on the walls. I was impressed by the food,... More

While visiting Asheville, my husband and I had a great lunch experience here! It is a cozy place with friendly staff and amazing food. I ordered the Samosa Chaat - A samosa served with a wonderful chick pea stew - perfect for a snowy afternoon. My husband ordered the Masala fries - an Indian version of chili cheese fries-made with... More
