Incredible food and atmosphere

I've twice been to India and loved it, so I was immediately impressed with the decor and ambiance here. The walls have gorgeous prints from India and they sell some Indian products. The food was SCRUMPTIOUS--all 6 dishes we had. Very reasonably priced and friendly, helpful staff.

After spending time in a country with many thousands of Indian expats and numerous Indian eateries, we thought we'd try Chai Pani. We were not at all disappointed. Everything we had was very tasty and filling.

Vegan CHOICES! So many delicious vegan options on the menu, servers who are cool about hanging outside with your dog and having a leisurely meal. Worth the trip to Asheville.

We were in Asheville for 4 days, and we went back twice - my family NEVER does that - we're very adventurous and prefer to check out new places. This place has really good food - every dish we ordered was excellent. Take it from someone who grew up in India - this is a must-do in Asheville if you... More

Asheville is a lucky town to have such tasty Indian food available, and not just the traditional stuff but the sweet/salty/spicy chat (snacks) that all Indians love! Brought the family here for lunch after a Christmas Biltmore visit and found the food fresh and tasty--they don't stint on the spices. They were out of bhel puri so we had the... More

I've been to Chai Pani three times in my times in Asheville and every time have tried something new. The menu isn't very large, but that's a good thing. This past time I tried the sloppy Jai which was a Indian/lamb inspired take on a sloppy Joe, very tasty. My wife had a sort of chicken wrap (whose name is... More

This place had great selection of Indian food. The thali plates were great. Food tastes just as if you were eating at home. Definitely recommend.

After seeing reviews here that made this food seem extremely enjoyable, my boyfriend and I ate here with another couple and found ourselves disappointed with the quality of our dishes for the price (which wasn't terribly high but for 'street food' it seemed so). The service was perfectly fine. No issues there. I started with a very bitter hot, spiked... More

I am not a huge Indian food fan, but I was pleased with everything we ordered. Okra fries, samosa, chicken lunch special (thaali ?) and a vegetable crepe-like item. The lunch special was probably the favorite and it included sampling a of a few different items.
