Indian "street food" Includes pakoras and samosas, and a changing cast of specials for both omnivores and vegetarians. Fresh, piquant. Also popular.

Really well done southern Indian food. Perfectly spiced with layered flavours. Great Bhel Puri. Half a mark off for the chai which was watery and way too gingery - hardly any cardamom taste at all.

wonderful menu, terrific indian food, quick service. Strange hours, and very busy so be sure to plan ahead. Sometimes long waits.

Great treasure in downtown Asheville for Indian food. All of the dishes are good and the prices are very reasonable.

When eating Indian food, I am sometimes hesitant because if the food is overly spicy, I feel terrible for the rest of the day. Fortunately, this was not the case at Chai Pani. There are vegetarian options and the food is not overly spicy. We arrived for lunch and were promptly greeted and served. They serve Kingfisher! Kingfisher beer is... More

This food is what I live for. It's extremely fresh, comes from local farms, and is very fair in price. If my girlfriend and I are anywhere near Asheville, we try to convince ourselves it's necessary to stop here. The atmosphere is relaxing, and vibrant at the same time, with lots of literature to read on where the food you... More

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this gem while walking around downtown. The menu is limited, but every item we tried was fantastic!
