Amazing food. Have been there a couple of times, a couple of years apart, and the same result. A little bit of a line, but it's a small place. They also really need to have more than one toilet for all patrons. But the food is absolutely great. I had the tilapia wrap both times, and it is absolutely amazing.... More

We arrived right at 5:30 after reading about the long waits and the popularity of this restaurant. And, nearing 6, a line formed. Chai pani is popular for a reason. The atmosphere is au natural and down-to-earth, and the menu has so many options, that coming back to try it all sounds reasonable. For my first visit, I tried the... More

Service was good, waited outside with other parties until doors opened at 5:30, was seated third. Street food portions were smaller than expected but were very good. Main dish was a little bland, didn't have the Indian food smack in the face of flavor I was hoping to expect. I would recommend to others but with normal Indian food expectations,... More

Everything is good. food smells awesome and taste authentic! street food concept is very fun. maybe because of that is what it focused on i find the main dish is a little lack of kick!

I insist on eating here on every visit to Asheville. I love the "street food" style of the menu and the prices are very reasonable. The restaurant has always been busy when I have been there and I usually choose to sit at the bar. The staff always makes great recommendations! I typically order whatever they suggest and I haven't... More

We love Indian food. This place was very different from what we are used to you and very good. I had Lamb "sliders" and my daughter had Tandoori chicken Salad. Both were very good and the presentation is nice! The staff is super friendly and it has good gluten free options. I would highly recommend it!

This place has a good selection of food for a decent price. The street food section is great because it allows you to get smaller portions of several meals making your meal polyflavourous.

Ate here while in Asheville for a short break. We all had the thali and it was awesome. Every component of the meal was fantastic.

Lovely little place. Doesn't take bookings, but we were able to get in after a short wait in their sister venue MG Road. We had a selection of the street food appetisers. Sad that the signature okra dish was off the menu though. Pakoras were nice, poppadoms good, though limited sides like you would get in a UK Indian, for... More

We had a great meal at Chai Pani. If you're expecting a typical Indian restaurant with a lunch buffet, you're in for a surprise. This is street food, spicy, scrappy, flavorful. Just order a variety and share. We tried the okra fries, a cauliflower special, the Sloppy Jai, and some uttapam. All delicious, especially when washed down with a Rickshaw... More
