Very happy to have finally tried Chai Pani

I had read great things about chai pani on bon appetit so I really wanted to try it. We did the thalis-one of us got the vegetarian and one got the chicken and we shared both. We started with samosas which were amazing. The items on the thalis plate were hit or miss. My veggie plate had a soinach dish... More

We loved this place. There was a line down the street before it opened, and people were happy to stand and wait. It was that good.

We love Chai Pani because of the quick service and excellent but well-priced options. The thali plate is always a favorite - check the chalkboard for the particulars of the day. Good, fresh food with unique Indian-Asheville combinations and quirky local service. The cord bhel was not as great as usual though - not enough corn but a lot of... More

We went here for the 1st time recently and found the waitress to be very friendly & helpful. My meal...a fish wrap dish...was very good and reasonably priced. My wife had a traditional Indian dish that she felt was pretty good. Prices are reasonable. Located in downtown area and is a very casual atmosphere.

We try to eat at Chai Panni whenever we are in Asheville! Even with the long wait, the food and service were excellent. We were impressed that so many Indian guests were enjoying the food (that's a seal of approval !). Loved the mango chaat and thali!

A very friendly menu very well prepared will find you here. The Bombay Cheese Fries are by far the most sophisticated turn on American bar food we've ever seen! This place has to be on your list of restaurants to visit, even if it's just for a quick snack. The thalis are a great deal for a great dinner.

A friend and I visited this restaurant and dined outside. The atmosphere was neat and our waitress made great recommendations for food. Delicious dinner!

We arrived about 7 on a Monday night and did not have to wait, though the restaurant got very full later. Had the bhel puri, tandoori chicken salad, and okra fries - and all were great. I don't usually even like okra, and was fighting over the last few fries. (Our server said the lime juice makes all the difference.)... More
