Looked like a tourist trap, but very surprising

We went here to grab a bite before sampling wines at the Biltmore Winery. The service was great and the food was fabulous (but pricey). We wanted to try everything on the menu. We did get the pimento cheese appetizer, and were every impressed. Served in a mason jar with homemade rusticos, it... read more

We went to Cedric's for a late lunch/early dinner on a dreary winter day, and the warm interior and friendly service helped to banish the blahs. They have an excellent selection of scotch whiskies, and an adequate selection of the Estate's wines (which rather impressed this California wine snob). We both ordered fish and chips. The fish was good, with... More

Named after a Vanderbilt family St Bernard dog, Cedric's is a much more casual, and somewhat less expensive eatery on the Biltmore estate, located in the Antler Hill village/winery area. Ample menu of hearty dishes, sandwiches, burgers; a good supply of appetizers and other small food all served in a simple, not fancy manner. One burger was undercooked, but still... More

We all enjoyed the service and food at Cedrics. There were 6 of us, we were promptly seated and our waiter was very prompt and courteous. All.of the food was delicious. The calamari was excellent and everyone enjoyed their entrees ranging from bison burgers to Reubens to ham sandwiches. The pretzel rolls were good and crabcakes were average but we... More

Cedric's has wonderful food, service and atmosphere. The steak dinner was amazing as was the grilled halibut. The meals are beautifully presented and the service is prompt and friendly. We also enjoyed the live entertainment. A nice man sang a lot of Beatles' songs so we were very happy.

My partner and I took a young English woman to Biltmore for a day of sight-seeing the prime "Tourist" attraction of this area. We recalled so many times telling others in europe, asia, and on various cruises about Asheville,N.C. Almost every time the response was "oh, yes, the Biltmore house, isn't that in Asheville?" Yes, so what happens when the... More

The food was above average pub food. Good selection of beers and specialty drinks. The entertainment (guitar/singer) was very good. Pleasant atmosphere.

I had a completely different mental picture of this "tavern" before visiting. There are such amazing places to eat in Asheville that this $20 burger can't compare to. Our party of nine left hungry, poorly waited on and generally dissatisfied. House made pickles were good though and Yella Pills beer was the highlight.

You can, of course, eat somewhere else in Asheville, especially if you live here, but sometimes you just want to eat in the very pleasant surroundings of the Biltmore Estate. Or, perhaps you're in the middle of your visit and you don't want to interrupt it by going off the grounds. Cedric's Tavern is one of several eating options available... More
