Reminded us of restaurants in Europe. Great atmosphere, menu was limited, but offerings were good and our food was good. Will go back.

The food was fine and, to my knowledge, competitive for the area. We started dinner with a reservation at 7:45. Just be aware that 1) they close at 9pm on Sunday evening (this is high season, June) and were abrupt about closing out the tab, and 2) they added a 20% tip to the bill for our party of 6.... More

We stopped into the Black Bird for Lunch while in Asheville. We actually came into town to do a drive by to see where the place we were going to dinner was located. We decided to grab lunch after walking around all day...it was so good and filling, that we actually cancelled our dinner reservations for later that night. I... More

I went to Blackbird with a couple of co-workers for a business lunch. The weather was perfect so the front windows were open and we could enjoy the fresh air. It was difficult to select what to order because so much on the menu sounded so good. I decided on the pan seared trout with almond crusted potato cake and... More

Had the pleasure of dining at Black Bird for lunch. Great menu, wonderful atmosphere, and personable staff! Couldn't ask for more! We actually stumbled upon this restaurant after stolling through downtown Asheville. We couldn't decide on what we wanted for lunch, definately knew we didn't want just plain, old, bar food. The moment I saw The Black Bird restaurant, I... More

We spent a night at the Aloft Hotel and went to The Blackbird Restaurant which is next door. It has an open modern decor with a full bar and an extensive wine list, including by the glass. The menu is large, with fresh new ideas and combinations of flavors/foods that you see only occasionally, but which all worked well and... More

When I went on the search for a place for dinner for my mom and my sister for mother's day in Asheville, I knew I had quite a challenge ahead of me. My mom is all about the atmosphere and was going to order fish no matter where we went. My sister is all about the food and would want... More

We enjoy trying new restaurants and this one was a fun gathering spot. Hubby and I had New York Strip steaks which were huge and settled in a yummy wine sauce. I enjoyed a cup of red pepper soup. There are many interesting appetizers and entrees to try. The location is great and the very large open windows make you... More

We had dinner on Saturday night and it was the perfect trifecta...windows open so we could enjoy the beautiful weather, service was impeccable with Josh as our server and the food was phenomenal! Can't wait to get back to Asheville and visit again!

The "bird" was hopping on a Saturday night...don't expect a quiet intimate dinner, but the salads and seafood were fresh and portions were ample. Blackbird cocktails were tasty if you like a semisweet drink. The coconut cake was enough for two to three people for those willing to share....it was excellent! Service appeared a little slow and confused, but management... More
