We made a 7:00 reservation on a Tuesday night through Open Table. We arrived to discover a glitch with Open Table where our reservation was actually for the following evening. ( Best bet: call the restaurant directly.) Fortunately, the manager--clearly a true pro--was graciously able to accommodate us and we are grateful that he could! What a meal! The ability... More

The Admiral is a creative culinary experience. They take their reservations seriously so don't be late. It is small and a little difficult to find but certainly worth the effort.

The Admiral was a great dinner choice while in Asheville. It looks kind of run-down from the outside, but it is actually really nice inside and the food and service was great! We ordered about 5 small places. 1 of them was all right (one with quail eggs), but the rest were quite tasty. The salad we ordered was actually... More

With a recommendation from our grandson, who lives outside Asheville, we had a delightful dinner at The Admiral. Also discovered an excellent wine, 3 Brooms Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand. Quaint setting for a restaurant. Check it out.

Great menu and wine list. This is clearly one of the best restaurants in the southeast. Do not be fooled by outside appearance or surroundings.

My wife and I looked at each other halfway through our dinner at The Admiral and we both agreed that we were in the middle of the best meal we had ever eaten. From the salad to the dessert, The Admiral met all our expectations based on the stellar reviews we had read on tripadvisor and other sites. I would... More

If you are in Ashville then The Admiral should be on your must list for dinner. Don't be put off by the outside appearance of the building. The inside is quite nice. The food is terrific. It is gourmet from taste to presentation. I had the tomatoe tartar, which is a Capresse salad deconstructed, Wow. For my entree I had... More

Don't be put off by the parking situation (pretty nightmarish) or the appearance of the building (pretty run-down) -- arrive a bit early to find your parking spot (I parked on Michigan, south of the restaurant), and simply go in. You will not be disappointed in your meal. In fact, our meal was fantastic! We had appetizers, salads, entrees, and... More

Food was tasty, light and innovative. The setting was relaxed, and although by the time were arrived, the place had a night-life look, we felt completely at easy with a 8 month-old baby. Service was competent and attentive.
