Once a mobile home with permanent additions built onto it, the Admiral is the most wonderful restaurant in Asheville, NC. The food is excellent, the wine list thoughtfully chosen and the servers knowledgeable. Hands down it is my favourite restaurant in the region, and we have eaten in lots of the "fine dining" establishments. Make reservations!

The Admiral's' menu was limited but the options that were available were delicious. It was packed and obviously a local favorite. Parking was an issue; otherwise, worth trying.

Looks like a dive. I think they like it like that. The Admiral is a tiny spot in West Asheville that has some kind of magic going on in the kitchen. Everything I've had here (I've been three times) has been exceptional, but the whole sea bass was a revelation. Plan ahead and make reservations, or take your chances for... More

Forget the decor. The outside would scare you away, but look through that. Certainly great food ! Best ribeye steak I've had anywhere.

In the eclectic area of West Asheville is a little gem of a restaurant, The Admiral. Iis located on a side street in a building that hails from the 1960's. The decor is funky, the seating a bit tight but the food is some of the best in Asheville, NC. You have to book a reservation weeks ahead because of... More

I was passing through on the way to Greensboro with my mom and 6 year old daughter when we asked Siri for places to eat. It was Friday and Lent so this place sounded promising for seafood. The parking lot only hold four cars and the area of town seems to be midway through a revitalization. The food was lovely,... More

My wife and I have had drinks and eaten here six times in the last year. Every time has been top of the line. On weekends they can book up so we arrive early 5-6 pm, sit at the bar (outside when the weather permits) have a drink (no reservations needed for the bar) and order our meal at our... More

We found the food here surprising bland. The food was very pricy for the quality and quantity. Cheese plate $18 four cheeses, I'd say about 1-1 1/2 oz of each. With chutney and almonds to pair. Little hard bread slices. Probably the tastiest thing we had. $9 Bibb lettuce salad with pomegranate dressing and smoked egg. Great dressing! About five... More
