Best Restaurant in North Carolina

My girlfriend and I have eaten here twice. This place is hands down the best restaurant I have been to in North Carolina. The Admiral is an amazing restaurant, hidden inside a plain exterior. Service is excellent, and the food is superb. Easily one of the best restaurants in Asheville. The grilled rabbit wings were really interesting, as was the duck leg adobo and a great ribeye steak. All beautifully plated. Well worth a visit if you can get a reservation.

Nearly every time we're in Asheville, we go here. Excellent food and fun atmosphere. I've gotten some great salad ideas from them. I've never had a bad meal there.

Visited Asheville for my birthday several weeks ago and decided on the Admiral to have my bday dinner at the recommendation of some friends. I was very glad I did. I typically would never eat raw meat but am ever so glad I ordered the beef tartar, which was ridiculously delicious! As well, the butternut squash soup was superb. I... More

The place does not have the look outside of what the offering will be inside. Very basic plain looking building that would make you think nothing would be inside....but step in and be treated to an amazing meal!

From start to finish, this will be a meal to remember. We like to order lots of things and split them so we can taste everything. Do not be fooled by the exterior, this place serves 4 star cuisine.

We almost drove past this place. It is in an old garage and still looks like it. The food was excellent and it was fun to watch the chefs in the open kitchen. Will definitely return!

The menu promises a fresh approach to Southern favorites but the kitchen delivers small portions of mediocre food. I was served a severely under-cooked pork chop accompanied with sugar-sweetened collard greens. Her mahi tasted fine but the small portion did not satiate her appetite. Our dining experience left us feeling disappointed and hungry. We shipped out of the Admiral and... More

The Admiral is a great restaurant that is located in West Asheville. From the outside, this place isn't fancy - cinderblocks, no windows, poor lighting and right across the street from a gas station. But the food - that's something else. The food is good. I sat at the bar, as I usually do when I travel solo. I had... More

Had a wonderful dinner, our reservation was a little delayed as it was a busy weekend night ( I think all are during the holidays.) Food was good, not certain it was worth the high price tag, granted we drank as well. Our server was good, but seemed somewhat of a robot...Again, granted it was a very busy night. I... More
