I had read the reviews about Admiral, some not so good. So when we went there we did not know what to expect. I am happy to say we had a great meal. The menu is small, so the choices are not broad. But the menu changes frequently, and to do that the items need to be limited. A great... More

We had been told that the Admiral is where all the local "foodies" eat and we had been unable to get reservations on previous trips to Asheville so our expectations were high. Unfortunately, we were disappointed by our meal. The menu was uninspired and the quality mediocre (salty fried chicken, tough pork chop). We did have one excellent dessert (grilled... More

Wow this place looks like a dive from the outside, but it is top notch. The food and drinks are exceptional. Making a reservation is highly advised. Bar seats are available to eat at as well. Those are first come first serve.

One of the best places we have had dinner EVER in the States. Highest level food, delicious plates and amazing pairings. Beautiful old-style atmosphere and great staff. A special thanks to Holly for her suggestions on the cheese plate!

The admiral is a small place in a humble cinder block building (albeit with a somewhat funky, colorful paint job) but make no mistake about it, they will prepare and serve you one of the best meals you will ever have in a restaurant. From the specialty drinks (I recommend the Admiral Manhattan) to the perfectly prepared appetizers and entrees,... More

I was there last month with my daughter and a friend. We had a reservation orginially for 9:30 which they moved up to 9 pm but we ended up waiting until 9:30 anyway. So this was not a great start. However the server made up for it by offering us an appetizer on the house after we said something about... More

My second, husband's and friend's first visit tonight. We had to take the 5 PM reservations but all was ready when we arrived. They had glasses of Cabernet, I had Pinot noir. We ordered appetizers and small plates:the meatballs, compressed watermelon, PEI mussels, Scallops with baba ganoush, fried oysters, leg of duck, tuna, figs with cream sauce, and then Peach... More

We have eaten here many times and every time it blows us away. This time I had the scallops and Peter had the pork chop, fantastic. I also for the first time had sweetbreads, I've always said not a chance would I eat them. Then I said I am curious so if I'm going to try them it is going... More

This was an incredible meal from start to finish. The service was excellent as well, Abby was efficient and friendly and wasted none of our time, By far our best dining experience. How can it be rated below Moe's ????? We ate at nine mile which was also rated higher and it was okay, but nothing compared to the Admiral.
