Love it. The meal was very good. I had the short ribs and it was fantastic. I would go back for sure.

Love everything about this place. We've been several times over the years. Chef Ivan is killing it. Loved the spicy chicken soup - unique, sort of a mix between a Mexican tortilla soup and a Korean broth. The short rib was succulent. The fried oyster Asian bun was great. Wonderful ambiance, sort of a fine dining quiet biker bar. Go... More

You will walk in and think you have the wrong address. Just prepare for that moment. It's dicey, sure, but what it lacks in ambiance it makes up for with its remarkable culinary talent. The three young chefs in the kitchen that night cooked a nearly perfect meal for our group of four and just knocked our socks off with... More

This place looks like a dive, is in a 'divey' part of town, and wants you to believe it is in fact a dive -- but it is not. The steak tartare is elegant and sophisticated with a touch of hip and modern due to the addition of the 64-degree egg. It's yummy, really yummy. So is the kale salad... More

Loved the food, atmosphere and service. Such a cool spot, we will certainly be back! I had the pork chop, my husband had the steak. Both were absolutely mouth-watering!

Myself, a friend, & my college aged daughter ate here Saturday 11/8. We shared 3 appetizers, 2 small plates, an entree & dessert. All of them were amazing!! As were our specialty cocktails. The waiter was excellent & went out of his way to accommodate one of us who has a peanut allergy. Will definitely be back & will highly... More

I am completely biased and cannot understand how this is not rated as one of the top 5 restaurants in Asheville. I think they get dinged for the location and lack of upscale ambiance. We have eaten at all of the higher end restaurants in Asheville and we are thrilled every time we eat here. The arugula salad, scallop dinner,... More

About two weeks ago, I attempted to get a reservation for The Admiral to no avail. I had booked a reservation somewhere else, but was never satisfied with that, so yesterday morning I just happened to check The Admiral's website and like the holy grail, they had a reservation at the exact time I wanted it. My friend and I... More

The Admiral, is by far, one of the most unique restaurants I've been to in the last several years. The location is in a very "urban" area and the exterior (and interior for that matter) does not match the exceptional quality of the food. During a two week trip to Asheville, several bartenders and restaurant staff mentioned this restaurant as... More

Great find. We heard about The Admiral on the Tasting Table site. We had a difficult time finding it even with GPS as the signs are well hidden and the entrance is on the side street. The place was full so all we could get was a seat at the bar which dampened the ambiance but the food was terrific.... More
