Get a reservation or you will be at the bar, which makes for awkward group conversation! Parking is AWFUL! But the location is cozy and romantic. Noisy and small. Just depends on why you are eating out! Main entrees are not cheap, but the food was sensational. Great place to try while visiting or special occasions, not sure I would... More

everything was wonderful. Helped we could walk (in the rain) from where staying. Had made reservation, had a booth and a wonderful waitress. Was both celebrating my birthday and anniversary of my father's death so asked for a drink that r minded me of his old fashions which I disliked. Waitress made me a horse's neck with bourbon, bitters and... More

The service, the food, the wine and wine list, you name it - it was great! Went there with some friends and we were all in for a work meeting. It was such a hideaway, we knew we wouldn't run into others! Even though I'm from Iowa, I had to try the steamed pork chop. Amazing! Whomever thought of this... More

We came to the Admiral because the lady we were renting from said it was her favorite place. It was an easy walk from where we were staying, and we went for an early dinner. Good thing because it is a bit small, probably best if you make reservations. We were seated right away and the waitress was prompt and... More

Most important is make reservations. If you want to be seated on time, get reservations for first seating such as 6pm. Or go during the week. They use high quality local and seasonal foods so keep in mind the menu changes frequently. The menu last night had cauliflower and chicken of the woods mushrooms in a couple of the dishes... More

If I lived in Asheville I would eat here every week! The creativity and food combos are over the top. Advance reservations are a must and do not be put off by the dive atmosphere, the food here is some of the best not only in Asheville, but across the globe. The arugula salad is a staple, we enjoyed, salmon,... More

This is hands down the best Steak in Asheville. Nothing even comes close to the level in which the Admiral plays with food quality and care.

I had kind of expected this place to be a bit fancy on the inside after reading what a dive it was outside...but it was neither. I actually warmed to the interior quite quickly as it had a very homey feel to it in a pub-like kind of way. Our server was great & she also doubled as our mixologist... More

Munching our way around Asheville & Friday night's dinner easily the best meal we have had so far. Exterior could pass for an auto repair shop or Video rental outlet, but once you have figured out that you enter via a side entrance, you end up in a very well run restaurant. Basically a long room with subdued lighting, &... More

We made a 7:00 reservation on a Tuesday night through Open Table. We arrived to discover a glitch with Open Table where our reservation was actually for the following evening. ( Best bet: call the restaurant directly.) Fortunately, the manager--clearly a true pro--was graciously able to accommodate us and we are grateful that he could! What a meal! The ability... More
