What a place...

Don't be put off by the exterior...this is a gem of a restaurant. We had friends tell us about the Admiral and we are so glad we were able to get a reservation. This is sublime food. Don't let the exterior of the building scare you away. Put on your jeans, make a reservation and go! We tried the arugola salad with humboldt fog, the Vietnam tacos with fried oysters and many other things. The menu is limited with only a few choices in each category. They know what they're doing here and... More

Get a rezi now. Or take a chance at finding a seat at the bar. Standouts: tuna tartar and grilled romaine salad. Snarky, but knowledgeable server. Had a 9:00 rezi, but opted to show up at 7 to find a spot at one of a dozen or so bar stools (full service/ full menu). We managed to squeeze three in... More

Had another great evening at The Admiral. They make it very hard to go anywhere else to eat. You come here & know the food is going to be delicious. The menu changes so there is always something new to try. Nate & Hannah made our evening even more enjoyable if that's possible!!! Between the three of us, we had... More

Once a mobile home with permanent additions built onto it, the Admiral is the most wonderful restaurant in Asheville, NC. The food is excellent, the wine list thoughtfully chosen and the servers knowledgeable. Hands down it is my favourite restaurant in the region, and we have eaten in lots of the "fine dining" establishments. Make reservations!

The Admiral's' menu was limited but the options that were available were delicious. It was packed and obviously a local favorite. Parking was an issue; otherwise, worth trying.

Looks like a dive. I think they like it like that. The Admiral is a tiny spot in West Asheville that has some kind of magic going on in the kitchen. Everything I've had here (I've been three times) has been exceptional, but the whole sea bass was a revelation. Plan ahead and make reservations, or take your chances for... More

Forget the decor. The outside would scare you away, but look through that. Certainly great food ! Best ribeye steak I've had anywhere.

In the eclectic area of West Asheville is a little gem of a restaurant, The Admiral. Iis located on a side street in a building that hails from the 1960's. The decor is funky, the seating a bit tight but the food is some of the best in Asheville, NC. You have to book a reservation weeks ahead because of... More
