Good Food, Earthy Atmosphere

I stopped in with friends for their noon buffet, and was not disappointed. The selection of exotic delicious food was wonderful, and the price so reasonable, I will return often.

We were quickly greeted by hostess. We ordered and the food came fast. Had the lentil and basmati rice, pretty bland. We also ordered lamb - meat was very good and easy to cut. We also had naan - very nice. Garlic flavor. Then we topped it all with some chyia (tea). Very nice and smooth.

I wanted to try this restaurant, since we've eaten Nepalese cuisine before an really enjoyed it. We were passing through the city. Stopping in, we found ourselves smack in the middle of a Nepal Earthquake Relief Fundraising Night. People had pre-purchased dinners (buffet) to help with the country's relief effort. Nevertheless, we thought we'd give it a try. Probably because... More

I don't know a ton about Indian, Himalayan, Tibean or Nepalese food, but I do know that I really enjoyed the experience at this restaurant. It was such a peaceful and interesting atmosphere inside, and the food was absolutely fantastic. I got chicken chau chau, and it was really good. The naan was great, the hot tea was very good,... Chose this restaurant for dinner one night on a recent trip to Asheville, based on all the terrific reviews on Trip Advisor. My experience there was NOT good. The restaurant was nearly empty when my dinner companion and I arrived at 7 pm--never a good sign. The waiter informed us that the soda machine was "out of order," and thus,... More

We had read many reviews that gave this a high rating and in Asheville there are so many great restaurants, We love Indian food so what could go wrong? The waiter seemed well intentioned but maybe shouldn't wait tables. To ask for drink a drink refill and 10 minutes later have to wave my glass in the air to get... More

Went here 2 days ago. Lovely interior. Slow service. The cocktails tasted good but a bit watered down. The lamb mo mos we had should have been there their signature dish and was really bad. They were hard and over cooked and not flavorful. We also had a salmon masala dish which was mediocre. We paid 80 dollars for 2... More

The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. We were familiar with Nepalese food as we have traveled to Nepal before and were looking forward to some wonderful dal. The café did not disappoint and we were quite pleased with the selections, quantity of food and general atmosphere.

Food was delicious. Large variety and easy for seafood/vegetarian eaters to be happy here with unique choices. Shrimp curry dish was very nice and not too sweet. Clay oven baked chicken and vegetables on a sizzling dish had nice flavors. Agree, drinks are sad here so have wine or skip it. However, the ginger lemonade is very good. They've improved... More

There are so many good places to eat in Asheville and this is definitely one of them. We went with a Tibetan, Nepalese, and Indian dishes. We wanted to try something from each country. My favorite were the Bison momos. I don't recall the names of the others, but both were tasty. I recommend getting the ginger lemonade. It was... More
