Valentine's Day ruined/ management doesn't care

After waiting 20-25 minutes to be seated, we get to our table. Eventually waiter takes our drink order. He took an inordinately long time to get around to doing that. We also ordered an appetizer which eventually came, but without plates for us! We had to ask another waiter to bring... read more

I went with my wife and daughter for lunch. We all had the Buffet. It was all good nothing was spectacular. The one good thing is the vegetarian select was wide (as my daughter is vegetarian and it is hard to find a place for us all to go); Definitely will try again but not on our "go-to places,"

The restaurant has a nice ambiance and ethnic feel to it. I was excited to find it had high reviews and chose it to celebrate my anniversary with my wife after visiting Biltmore. During dinner, I ordered the fish (trout) from one of the oven clay baked options. I told the waiter to make it extra spicy (hot) if possible.... More

Asheville is home to a cultural and taste experience at Kathmandu Cafe. Indian, Nepalese and Himalayan foods emit the most glorious scents filled with spices that are warming & delicious. What a taste treat! Something for everyone--lamb, beef, chicken and lots of vegetarian choices. The bread (naan) is mouthwatering and the Mango Lassi-- a popular, traditional, yogurt-based drink from Bangladesh,... More

Our server was friendly, and the food was really, really amazing! Definitely give it a try. We got the non-vegetarian dal bhat (basically a sampler) and it was delicious! Will definitely return next time we come to Asheville.

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, and really really good food. We got one item each from the Tibetan, Nepali, Tandoori, and Indian sections of the menu. Everything was fantastic. Great place.

I suppose it is actually Nepalese but it's very similar to Indian food. We had the dinner buffet and everything was delicious! On par with Mela (the most popular Indian restaurant in town).

A first for us. We've been to Asheville many times, and I am so glad we had dinner at Kathmandu Cafe. As I type this, I am eating my leftovers (Aloo Cauli- hot), wishing I was still there. We were first in for dinner, and our server was smiling and friendly. I loved the decor. It took me out of... More

This is the first time I've tried Nepalese food. It was fantastic with umami flavors. The place is a bit overly decorated, but look past that and you will enjoy authentic Nepalese food. Service is okay, too.
