I almost died....from food bliss.

As we drifted around downtown Asheville we happened upon Kathmandu cafe. We had no idea the amazing meal ahead of us. We tried several dishes, naan and their chai tea. Everything was so delicious and spices that were out of this world. I'm still telling friends about this place when they plan trips... read more

We ordered Kathmandu through Valet Gourmet. We were excited to try a new Indian type restaurant. We ordered pakoras which were pretty good and also some kind of patty which was tasteless. The Goat Curry was all gristle and bones and the dumplings were hard as a rock. This was not just the worst Indian food we've had, but the... More

Love some diversity in my diet. This lace nailed it. Essentially similar to Indian cuisine. The inside is very cool, great atmosphere. Would recommend. Not return due to I eat a lot of Indian at Home and not due to quality.

I have eaten here bunch of times, both lunch buffet and dinner. I think the lunch buffet is more closer to an Indian buffet than Himalayan cuisine. The food is still good though. You should probably order from the menu to taste more Nepali flavors on the dish. The inside and decor is awesome and the servers were professional.

Before deciding to do dinner, I stopped in to see what their luncheon buffet looks like. It looks like a lot of fun for lunch with an opportunity to try a little bit of several different dishes that they also offer at dinner, but not buffet style. Dinner does not have the buffet. If I were doing this over again,... More

Really enjoyed the variety of Tibetan & Himalayan cuisines. Not outstanding food as I have eaten in Chicago, but how great that it's available in Asheville. Pretty broad selection and ideal for vegetarians.

I stopped in with friends for their noon buffet, and was not disappointed. The selection of exotic delicious food was wonderful, and the price so reasonable, I will return often.

We were quickly greeted by hostess. We ordered and the food came fast. Had the lentil and basmati rice, pretty bland. We also ordered lamb - meat was very good and easy to cut. We also had naan - very nice. Garlic flavor. Then we topped it all with some chyia (tea). Very nice and smooth.

I wanted to try this restaurant, since we've eaten Nepalese cuisine before an really enjoyed it. We were passing through the city. Stopping in, we found ourselves smack in the middle of a Nepal Earthquake Relief Fundraising Night. People had pre-purchased dinners (buffet) to help with the country's relief effort. Nevertheless, we thought we'd give it a try. Probably because... More

I don't know a ton about Indian, Himalayan, Tibean or Nepalese food, but I do know that I really enjoyed the experience at this restaurant. It was such a peaceful and interesting atmosphere inside, and the food was absolutely fantastic. I got chicken chau chau, and it was really good. The naan was great, the hot tea was very good,...
