As a local, this has recently become one of my go to places. The lunch buffet is varied and well prepared. It is my fav for Indian type of food now as it varies more than the other options in town. The dinners are well prepared and show that time and effort is put into the food. Their house special... More

After living in the Asheville area for 9 years we finally decided to try this restaurant and what we discovered was exciting. It is like walking into a nice Café in Nepal with an exciting and varied menu to match. Immediately seated by a server in a comfortable location, menus were given, questions asked and knowledgeable information provided. We opted... More

Double standard service. They need more worker. Only two people working in a full house restaurant . They only prioritize the rich looking kind of group.

Went to the Kathmandu Cafe for the second time this past year. I had the lunch buffet which was very good. The food is very similar to Indian food so if you like that, you will surely enjoy Kathmandu Cafe. Good variety of food options to choose from and friendly staff.

The Sunday lunch buffet has a nice selection and is priced at $8.99. The Mango Lassi drink is very flavorful. I would recommend a lunch stop.

Several of the folks in my group were quite surprised at the heat level of our dishes. Mine was essentially inedible but there was no warning on the menu and no mention by the waitress. I would think that the unique nature of the menu would warrant some information sharing or inquiries by the waitress as to whether we knew... More

We tried this place for dinner last night and very pleased. The menu was a bit overwhelming, so I opted for the vegetarian combination and my husband had the non-vegetarian combination. When we sat down, we were served water in interesting metal cups. The server was friendly and helpful as she explained the dishes on the combination plate since I... More

I have never had Himalayan food and when we walked by, I was able to smell the wonderful spices and aromas. We went in for a "before late night snack," and I had a wonderful lentil soup, Mushuro Ko Dal and another starter, Samosa (potato patties). The staff was wonderfully attentive and the atmosphere was wonderful, partly because of the... More

YUM! My husband loves Indian food, and I had never had it until we started dating. Kathmandu Cafe has excellent Indian & Nepalese food, and they offer a buffet during lunch for $8.99 which allows you to try lots of different things. The atmosphere is incredible. I love the prayer flags hanging and the wooden trellises running throughout the restaurant.... More
