Great breakfasts, many specials offered w/ great prices. Counter and table seating, reasonable parking availability, just blocks from downtown. Active and bustling. Wait staff can get a little noisy talking among themselves and you will see their family members and friends come in and out. Sit at the counter and watch how well the short order cooks work together. One... More

I found the food to be as mediocre as the atmosphere. First restaurant I've been to in a while that doesn't serve Heinz ketchup, but instead an off-brand. One thing I'll say is that the service was amazing. I didn't have change for the bill and the waitress reached into her own pocket and handed over 30 cents.

I am a local that is retired, and I eat breakfast at 5 Points Restaurant 5 out of 7 days a week. The owner has retired, and the new owner will take some getting use to. He is still in training as to southern ways.

You have to try this place straight out of my youth. Five points has a diner atmosphere and food to match. Breakfast is an event full of classic breakfast fare. Eat with locals and get great food. For lunch where else can you get a great open faced turkey sandwich? Enough said!

Stopped by as we were driving by the restaurant and noticed that the parking lot was full, which is alway a good sign for a small neighborhood restaurant. Able to sit down immediately, waitress was extremely helpful and suggested some items. Had a Greek dish, and greek salad. Lots of great food and the price was extremely reasonable. Will go... More

I was in town for a friend's birthday. We decided to go out for breakfast and she suggested we go to 5 Points. Even though my friend had never been (only lived in AVL for two years) it had been suggested by locals several times. It was a GREAT experience...starting with our gracious and hilarious server, Catherine to the yummy... More

The people who run this place are great and the service couldn't be better. But, the food -- at breakfast, at least -- was pretty mediocre. Breakfast is our favorite meal for eating out, and there are some excellent places around town to get it. This restaurant looks like the kind of old fashioned diner you'd find in a small... More

We have lived in Asheville for 15 years and own a local bed and breakfast. We have been coming to this local diner all that time. It is a treat to have someone fix breakfast for us and we return over and over to Five Points. I miss seeing "Mama" as I did in the old days but the welcome... More

Liked the ability to walk the majority of the Asheville downtown area. Liked alot of the local shops and attractions. Disliked the lines at the Biltmore - it's definatly not a walk at your own pace, and good luck finding an operating drug store downtown.
