One of our best meals in Asheville

There's a lot of good food in Asheville, but this place is definitely up in the top tier. I had the filet and my friend had a corn agnolotti (sp?). We also had the special appetizer, scallops and creme brulee for dessert. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the service was outstanding. It is... read more

Let me just start out by saying my whole experience with the Biltmore has been disappointing. Seems like just because George had built this mansion a century ago, everything that follows must also be great. NOT! You really want to impress me, walk the walk and talk the talk. The wines they are selling are by far overpriced for the... More

Loved the burger. Could eat that bacon jam on everything. Pork feature and tartar were also good! Great service, which we really appreciate.

Our June 17 dinner at the Bistro was our worst dining experience this year. Our server was uncaring; the meats were tough; the potatoes unmemorable; and the carrots were small, white and wilted. We asked for a recommendation for a light, refreshing wine. The wine that was served had so much tannic acid that it left a bitter after taste.... More

During a 4-day stay, we ate here twice. Not cheap. On a weeknight, it surprised us that it was practically empty. Efficient, pleasant service both evenings. Fine food, most of it locally sourced ingredients. Forget the wood-oven flatbread. Everyone raves abut the baked French onion soup; just be prepared to be full afterward :) Grilled Romaine salad was nice, as... More

This restaurant is located on the grounds of the Biltmore Estate. While on a family trip to the estate, we dined at the Bistro. It was an excellent lunch. I enjoyed the smoked potato rye gnocchi with farm egg, Brussels sprouts and toasted garlic. It was delicious and I can't recommend it enough. At $14.95 it was priced reasonably and... More

The shop is fun to visit, but the wine tasting was not very good, but I do not know a lot about wine.

You'd think the Vanderbilt's were cooking for you. Service was slow, menu choices few and the prices high. We did the wine tour on a previous visit. Would not go back.

Ordered filet mingnon well, no pink at $43 and got a lump of coal. Ordered scallops which were full of sand which was so bad the management didn't charge. The place was dark and really was quite overpriced. Best to go into town and enjoy better food. Cocktail had very little alcohol for $11.
