Description: Marco's Pizzeria continues the family business started in 1933 of cooking unparalleled New York-style pizza in two locations in Asheville, North Carolina. Marco's Great Uncle Patsy started the family's first pizzeria when he expanded the offerings of his ice cream parlor to include the uniquely New York-Italian dish. Patsy's Pizzeria in Harlem originally used a coal-fired oven to create a crust that is thin and crisp on the outside. Today, the fourth generation of pizza-makers in Marco's family continues to use Patsy's recipe and methods to create a dish that is unlike anything else available outside New York.

We dine at the South Asheville location of Marcos and have been there numerous times. I would definitely go there for the pizza, salads and sandwiches. I recently decided to try to baked ziti and what a huge disappointment that was. The pasta was rubbery, the sauce was bland and the cheese wasn't even melted. I didn't want to complain... More

This is Asheville's best pizza. Nobody else is close. Delicious full flavored chunky tomato sauce with perfect seasonings and very tasty just the right amount of cheese. For pepperoni lovers order a double topping. The crust is nicely crusty and good to the last bite. As for any poor reviews there's always that 10% of cranky people you can't satisfy... More

This is one of our go-to places when we don't feel like cooking. Great value for the dollar in terms of well prepared Italian comfort food - pizza, spaghetti, calzones, etc. They have nice large house-made meatballs too. Sometimes they are a little heavy handed with the salt in the pizza dough, but I tend to be sensitive to even... More

We arrived to find the entrance packed with a crowd waiting for tables. We checked in with the smiling hostess but then we saw there were available seats at the bar and decided to sit and eat there. Glad we did. Our bartender/server Janice was friendly and attentive and offered tastings of a couple of beers to help us decide... More

Really good pizza, salads and Italian dishes. Friendly staff, family feel. And really good dessert selections. Excellent value.

I've been to Marco's Pizzeria twice now and everytime i go, i am never satisfied with the pizza and neither is my family. We always get a normal pepperoni pizza and everytime there is too much cheese and not much pepperoni. In addition to that, the sauce is always too sweet. Honestly i think who ever makes the pizzas should... More

We've eaten at Marco's other location in Asheville, but this pizza was truly memorable. We ordered a large pie with prosciutto, sun dried tomatoes, and green olives. The prosciutto was fresh and there was plenty of it. The toppings were generous and freshly cut. Toppings are important! Now, on to the best part...the crust. The crust was hand tossed and... More

My wife and I went to meet up with some friends in skyland nc. We didn't know the area and just drove around looking for a pizza joint. and damn if we didn't hit the jackpot! Right when we walked in I see six real pizza ovens and I said I know they gots some good pizza here! It did... More

The parking entrance is a bit tight. Abd the waitress was a little unfamiliar with Italian fare. But beyond that the food was excellent! The antipasto platter is more like a salad exploding with multiple Mediterranean flavors. From the giant olives and artichoke hearts to the ripe red Roma tomatoes and red onions. The toasted parmesan bread sticks were very... More

We eat here every chance we get. Not many places have this quality of pizza at this price. We order the individual pizza but it is enough food to feed two adults. Also, they have good lical beer on tap.
