different type of food and décor, not a franchise always good to try something new and this a good experience, and good food - bought some extra Vienna Salad and their dressing to bring home and fix for the family.

Maybe it is because I live in Europe and can dine in Germany when I choose. But this log cabin German Bavarian style restaurant just didn't cut the mustard. There was German bier, which satisfied, but the sausages . . . well, go if you must. I suppose there aren't that many German style eateries in western North Carolina, but... More

We planed to eat here on our annual trip to Grove Park. We drove down from Boone in time to have dinner here before we checked in. Got to the restaurant and ]walked in and stood at the front door for a few minutes, no one spoke to us. There was maybe four tables eating and some waiting with no... More

The Schnitzel is very bland. You can tell the potato dumplings are not made from scratch. They do not serve Pomme Frites. The only good thing I can say would be about the beer and the friendly server. Would not go out of my way to visit again.

If you were here when this place opened several years ago and were not satisfied, try it again. It changed hands and the last two times we were there it was really good. Try the schnitzels, several varieties and you can choose pork, veal or chicken. They also make their own sausages, which are quite good. Very large portions. In... More

We were from out of town and staying at the Grove Park Inn. We had planned to eat on the sunset terrace, but it was pouring rain and after the really terrible appetizers we had the day before decided to not spend the $200.00 dinner would have probably cost and went here instead. Very happy we did! Everything about it... More

We took the advice of other reviewers on this one and it was great! We were worried because it was not crowded but it was wonderful. Loved the herbed butter and fresh bread. We were so stuffed we took our dessert to go some we could eat it later and not have to pass it up. Totally worth the price... More

We had a very good meal here and loved the real German atmosphere. The historic building is perfect for this restaurant, the food is fresh, and we had friendly and attentive service. We will definitely go back the next time we're in the area. No complaints!

Great cozy atmosphere. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. They came around with free samples of one of therir sausages ... nice touch. We had rabbit, knockwurst and vege strudel. All very good. The salads and sides were fantastic, too. Had a german chocolate cake / black cherry ice cream / whipped cream dessert that was out of... More
