Great cozy atmosphere. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. They came around with free samples of one of therir sausages ... nice touch. We had rabbit, knockwurst and vege strudel. All very good. The salads and sides were fantastic, too. Had a german chocolate cake / black cherry ice cream / whipped cream dessert that was out of... More

The Bavarian dining restaurant & Biergarten is located on the other side of Asheville. i traveled about a half hour to get to this place because the reviews looked promising. Raleigh only has one german restaurant left so i look for these when i leave town. You could easily pass this place (and the town for that matter) without giving... More

I LOVE German food and it's hard to find good offerings. This place is FABULOUS. I would go out of my way to eat here again. It is truly wonderful!

First time there as we are from out of town, visiting Asheville and surrounding area to see the lovely Fall foilage. Waitress was very friendly. There were only two waitresses and they were very busy. Delicious home baked bread was brought first then our delicious German meals - schnitzles with super tangy (thanks to a bit too many cloves) red... More

First time here but NOT the last! Both my husband and I indulged in some thirst quenching beer, Had the bratwurst Sampler platter, the German bread was fluffy and warm, I had the root veggie pastry with Spaetzle and a soft pretzel. All was fabulous and my husband has begged every night since to go back. We'll definitely be bringing... More

What a lovely little place! We came across it by chance, just driving by. I am from Bavaria and my husband and I lived there for a long time. The interior of this restaurant is amazing.,,truly "gemuetlich",..cozy. The decor is authentic, down to the smallest detail... most notably an impressive collection of beer steins, a "Stammtisch", fun Bavarian music, along... More

This is a small, authentically German restaurant where they serve good German food, which is traditionally somewhat "heavy". When you go, you should do one of three things: go when you are very hungry; share an entree with someone (by adding an extra bratwurst for a small fee, the food is enough for two people), or plan to ask for... Don't judge by the outside. Had goulash soup and rouladen. Both were as good as any I have had in Germany. A little expensive but good German food is worth paying a little extra.

We brought old German friends to help us evaluate the food and beer; each of us ordered something different. They served wonderful baked loaf bread with the German beer before the meal arrived. We were not disappointed with any selection. However, I will say that the food and drinks were a bit pricey.

This is a pretty good German restaurant with a cool interior/atmosphere. The entrees are slightly pricey- my daughter got a "drunken chicken" dish that was approximately $20. However, my husband and I both tried authentic sausage dishes that were only about $10 and were great with beer. The service we had was just average but we did visit near closing... More
