If you like German food you will like it here.

Stopped in for Lunch after visiting the Biltmore Estate. First off this place is pretty run down and showing lots of wear. All of the decor is pretty dusty and old. If fact the whole place kinda leans. But the staff and food was right on. Our waitress must have been new because she didn't seem... read more

If you want German food and rustic ambiance, this place is somewhere to consider. But, if you want really good German food, I'd try someplace else. Not going to debate the definition of wiener schnitzel, but we had chicken(?!) wiener schnitzel, pork (they were out of veal) wiener schnitzel and bratwurst. The schnitzel crusts were somewhat moist, but I've come... More

I guess I should preface this review by stating that German food is far from my favorite cuisine. However, there were people in my group who love the stuff and they deemed this restaurant worthy of just 3 stars as well. The decor is awesome--it's a very fun and comfortable place to dine. The people are also amiable and eager... More

First off, let me say that I live nearby and I love this place. Yes, it's small. Yes, the building is an old (but charming) log cabin with tilted floors, and yes, the location isn't the best, BUT the food is awesome and the staff is very friendly. My friends and I go there quite often for dinner; I sometimes... More

Unfortunately, a party of 13 arrived just before us. So, service was very slow from being seated to ordering to getting drink refills. People who came in after us were served first. In addition, they were out of veal, spatzle, and bratwurst! What was left on the menu that we had was very average. But, to top off the negative... More

Went here on a Saturday night (We were staying at the Pines Cottages - which are awesome btw.) Place was dead. Should have been our clue to turn around. There was 7 of us. They gave us a nice big table in the front room. Service was unbelievably slow. We waited over and hour and a half for our schnitzel... More

We stopped in for lunch after traveling 4.5 hours to start our vacation. Cindy greeted us and was a breath of fresh air. It's very rare to find an employee so happy and invested in her job! We got pretzels to start and they were fabulous. The homemade mustard was excellent as was the beer my husband enjoyed. I got... More

What a surprise find! We were staying nearby and thought we would give this inviting restaurant a try. The food was excellent and the owner, who was a little shorthanded with help that evening, couldn't have been more accommodating and personable. Everything about the experience - the food, drinks, atmosphere - was extremely enjoyable. We left stuffed and ready to... More

Appetizers were awesome but the beef without the gravy was over cooked and dry. Overall my meal lacked flavor. The beer was great! The staff was friendly but not organized. The atmosphere was eclectic to say the least. No adjustment to the bill for the dry beef. Therefore 3 stars.

Quaint Bavarian style restaurant. Server was dressed in a tank top and yoga capris. Not exactly authentic. Only one server that evening. Food was delicious. German potato salad is not authentic or what we expected. Red cabbage from a jar. Everything else schmeckt gut. Very pricey for portion size.
