Good Food Fast

Ate there twice during a recent conference downtown. They have wonderful sandwiches at breakfast on a cheddar scallion biscuit. It was a tad bland (salt on the egg might have helped -- or a livelier cheese), but satisfying nonetheless. Lunch later in the day was a turkey, cheddar, and basil mayo on... read more

Stopped and had the quiche and BLT with avocado added. Quiche was a little small but tasty. Sandwich was tasty. The lavender coffee was very good. The coconut cream pie was spot on and not too sweet. The iced sugar cookie was meh. Atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice. A lot of people working on this Sunday morning and... More

We came here because unlike some of the lunch places downtown, they actually have a kids menu. Our small child was able to take advantage of the grilled cheese sandwich. Nothing special, but at least something. We tried the hummus, goat cheese sandwich - very good. Also tried the quiche with a side salad. Quiche had a potato-based dough, and... More

It was okay. Fresh bread but atmosphere is panera-like and food is unimaginative. Our salmon bagels were okay, but not as divine as the salmon bagel at Todd's Tasties.

Asheville loves local! This spot has some excellent coffee choices and they know what they're doing. But it's the baked goods and food that bring me back over and over. The morning biscuits (scallion and cheese) are beyond good. The bagels are house-made (!). The soup is delicious. The three-cheese grilled sandwich might make you cry. Free wifi with an... More

The first day in Asheville I stopped in and enjoyed a chocolate croissant that was among the best I have ever eaten so decided to take two home with me and after returning home opened the pastry box to find two very over cooked and crunchy topped chocolate croissants. Of course being 3 hours away I could not go back.... More

Had breakfast sandwiches, which everyone enjoyed. Ingredients were fresh, and the staff were very friendly. Delicious!

It was a chilly Saturday Morning when Wes, our tour guide, took us to this small place. It all the places in downtown Asheville it is hard to figure out where to go for a snack. This place is it, hands down. The best eclair I have ever had. Eclairs are my lifetime favorite and I am old. The pastries... More

The lattes were so good, we visited two days in a row. We also had breakfast sandwiches the second day on their house made bread- very good, and perfect fuel for a day of travel. Will go back for a coffee when we return to Asheville!

Hi and thanks for your feedback! Unfortunately, we are not currently offering WiFI at our Charlotte St. location at this point of time, but we may consider it in the future. However, you can visit our other two locations, Biltmore or Waynesville, as they both have WiFI available. Thanks! The City Bakery Team More
