Great Hamburger Buns!

If you happen to eat at Chestnuts your Hamburger buns are from City Baker. Talk about great quality in their product. Just through Chestnut's alone I would recommend this bakery.

We stop for a rest while shopping. The service was good. They had a lot of items to choose from on menu. They had fresh bread for their sandwiches. There was a wild variety of desert items.

I love the fact that it's open from early in the morning; actually one of the few places in the area with that schedule. Diverse selection for breakfast, and lunch. Good Coffee, Good Tea, Good natural OJ. Will be back!

This bakery has very nice bread and a small but interesting soup, salad and sandwich menu. They have a full selection of hot beverages and a fridge of cold stuff as well. There is a nice assortment of pasteries if your sweet tooth is aching. The staff are very friendly and provide great service. There are two locations. The Biltmore... More

I've had some pretty good sandwiches for lunch here -- at the bakery and to go. I've also gotten tea and some bread on the way out of town. Good for those types of meals.

We ate a late lunch here and it was wonderful. The pastrami Reuben with chips, a cup of tomato basil soup and a coke were approx. $15 before tip. The sandwiches are all fresh. There was a good selection of fresh made pastries available at the counter. The staff was very helpful and patient. It is conveniently located in downtown... More

City bakery was within walking distance from our hotel so we stopped in for breakfast. What a find. Breakfast sandwiches were great... Our egg, bacon, and cheese on cheddar biscuits were awesome as was the sticky bun we shared. Prices good, clean and friendly environment. Recommend highly!

Consistently, over years, a very good spot for breakfast or lunch. We stop here every time we come to Asheville for a sandwich, breakfast or just a cookie or two, and have never been disappointed. Food is updated simple and always good. This is our go to place in Asheville for a simple meal or snack.

It's our go to place for bread, and bagels. They do serve breakfast fare and lunch too. But, we usually by our bread there and are always happy with it.

Ate lunch here on a beautiful, warm November day. Small number of tables for outdoor seating which was great. Enjoyed the food and conversation with people at nearby tables.
