We discovered this grocery shortly after it opened in 2004 or so. Excellent neighborhood store which eventually became a Whole Foods Store. They have not lost their charm.

Perfect store for natural, vegan and hard to find local items. Must try their vegan cookies. We had just visited Green Man Brewery and found one of their new brews there, unfortunately now back home cannot!

For several years, Greenlife was alone then joined by Earth Fair providing fresh, organic, bulk and local foods, deli and medicinals. But now a block north on the same side of the street there is a new Trader Joes and a Harris Teeter (providing all of the above but a broader range of choices less healthy as well) Greenlife now... Really do like the breakfast buffet and the fact that they don't stop serving at an early hour. Food is very good, always hot and fresh. Crowd can be daunting at certain times but that's a sign of good food, good value. Wish they would remodel though.

This place was recently bought by Whole Foods and you can tell! Great options for all kinds of diets and we were especially gaga over all of the vegan desserts available for purchase! Awesome grocery store for those who lean towards healthier diets such as organic, GF, vegetarian/vegan, or natural foods.

I get a protein and two sides at least a couple of time a month. With food allergies, I have to read the ingredients carefully. I always have choices. It is good food at a reasonable price.

Greenlife, which is now part of Whole Foods, is a health food store that is truly neighborhood oriented. They carry a variety of healthy fresh, canned and frozen foods including a meat counter for non-vegetarians. The deli offers both meat and plant-based dishes for take out or dining area. Fresh made-to-order smoothies and baked goods are very popular. The produce... More

We were visiting family in Asheville for an early Thanksgiving. To avoid having them cook, we ordered a Thanksgiving meal from the Greenlife Grocery (aka Whole Foods) all the way from Boston. It was simple and easy to order. The price was very reasonable. After a day of travel, we arrived at the designated time to pick up our order.... More
