Havana will be missed!

Just when I was starting to really like them. They have (or had now) a $5 two-taco lunch special which was always good. Nice, friendly staff too. In any case, the restaurant is closed now and I heard the owners bought a different establishment in town. The only Cuban-inspired restaurant that I know... read more

From the savory croquettes to the subtly sweet Caribbean flavors of the coconut wrap dinner, our meals were amazing! The live, 3-man jazz band & the quality of the food combined with the friendly, low-key atmosphere make this place both relaxing & fun for everyone. My daughter loved the crab cakes & my father-in-law, who ordered the "safest" thing he... More

Dined here recently when visiting Asheville for the day. We started with the croquettes and the empanadas. Both were well prepared and tasty. The croquettes were served with cilantro crema--scrumptious! We ordered pork tacos and the Cuban sandwich. The cuban was the best I've ever eaten! The tacos were delicious as well, with guacamole, lettuce and salsa. Simple but yummy!... More

Asheville's Havana Restaurant is a good choice for a fun and delicious meal. It's quite economical and there is lots of variety on the menu. The servings here are large. I like their Cuban Sandwich with some black beans. This location near the Civic Center is convenient for dinner before events downtown. When we tell our server about plans for... More

They have these amazing chips and salsa. We almost always get their Cuban sandwich, pork empanadas, and plantains. I like my black beans and rice soaked in the black bean sauce, and theirs was sort of dry. Some may like it that way, but I lived for 20 some odd years in southern Florida and having dined on SW 8th... More

Two TA reviews praised the Arroz con Pollo. This is the third! The Valencia rice was moist, tasty and flavorful. As were the yucca, plantains and black beans. My wife's grilled salmon was done perfectly. Just wish they had given her some of the Valencia rice also. However, the ceviche was smothered in cocktail sauce like a shrimp cocktail gone... More

Very pleased with what we ordered and that they served wild caught salmon!!! . Their menu has so much more on it than what is posted on the menu tab. Definitely one of our Asheville's favorites!

This is located on the fringe of the Arcade in Asheville, only few blocks from the downtown flow. We were referred by a local and went on a Saturday when they were slammed. They had a guitarist playing outside where we sat to eat lunch. It was a very relaxing setting. Our waitress was crazy busy - but still was... More

This is a cuban themed restaurant. The time we went I has some Ropa Viejo and I actually saw the owner making the food. My wife had another dish but it was not that good. Mine was a bit dry. I wish they had more true Cuban offerings. Close to Grove Arcade and right downtown.
