Skip the salmon............

While in Asheville two friends and I randomly chose this restaurant. As others have noted, it has the island vibe, atmosphere and energy. The nightly special and "Cool Running" dish met with raves from my friends. Unfortunately, I ordered the "Ark of the Covenant" which features salmon. I would... read more

The nightly special and "Cool Running" dish met with raves from my friends. Unfortunately, I ordered the "Ark of the Covenant" which features salmon. I would suggest they remove this from the menu...........it tasted like old fish... More

Have eaten at Nine Mile several times service and quality of food has declined each time. Staff ignored only 2 people waiting to be seated in an empty establishment, facial expression and body language spoke volumes. Blonde at the bar had a face screwed up like she was having hot flashes. Native speaking here! Nine Mile has gotten comfortable and... More

They have a very good menu. Their presentation of food is artistic. They have a decent wait staff. The atmosphere is very typical Island type. I enjoy taking friends there. We are never disappointed in the food. The prices are decent and their specials are excellent. Love the stuff they do with sweet potato. Would highly recommend it.

wonderful delicious and not over-priced in the least. We have gone many times and have never had a bad meal. They will serve all entrees gluten free or vegetarian upon request. Love this place!

A friend of ours took us to the West Asheville location for dinner when we were in town for a visit. Oh my goodness, it was delicious! We had the Cool Runnings and substituted with Tofu and the Nine Mile with tofu. Both dishes were incredibly flavorful, yes, even the tofu (seriously tasty tofu). That was in mid April and... More

Hopping local favorite. Excellent mix of caribbean flavors. The Negril Night was delicious. The tuna was seared perfectly not to mention I loved the coconut jerk sauce on the vegetables. Food transported you away to the islands.

We were fortunate to get a restaurant recommendation from a local friend, who directed from the downtown tourist destination to this neighborhood find. We waited for an outside table, which added to the laid back atmosphere and relaxed wait service. We were three people, and ordered 3 different dishes. Starting with the salad, choices of salad dressing and garlic bread, we... More

We wanted to treat our couch surfing host to dinner out, and he said this was his favorite restaurant in Asheville! We were also favorably impressed. Reggae music greeted us as we entered, and the decor was festive Caribbean. My mahi with mango-jicama salsa was very tasty, but the amount of salsa was inadequate. The waitress said that the chef... Drove by the place on 3 occasions, the aroma of garlic in the air. While staying in the Lion and the Rose B&B down the street we received high recommendations on the quality and creativity of the food. They were right. We started with the live and give appetizers. The sauces were amazing. Each with a distinct flavor. Could not... More

Food was wonderful and very fresh. Our dishes didn't let us down as to heat - heat level "hot" (nine mile with jerk chicken and jerkin thirsty chicken). Nice house dressing, but not for those that aren't garlic lovers. Also, go early. Other reviewers correct - wait time for those that arrived after 5:30 or so today. Great service, too.... More
