Right down the street from the Lion and the Rose bed and breakfast in the heart of the Historic Montford district is a truly unique neighborhood restaurant, Nine Mile. A wonderful couple owns it and the menu is filled with wonderful Caribbean food, great vegan dishes and the micro-brews Asheville is known for. more

Location of this restaurant is very odd. Unless you're staying at a bed and breakfast in Montford or happen to live in the area it's a most unexpected place to go. We went for dinner after dark, which most likely hides some of the less than appealing outdoor vistas from the eatery, as well as the building it's located in!... more

If Nine Mile is one of the two or three most popular and best restaurants in Asheville, I'm going to move to Santa Fe, NM! Few people I know in Asheville have even heard of Nine Mile, but when I saw it had zoomed to the top or near the top in the TripAdvisor listings, I wanted to try it.... more

My husband and I checked out 9 mile at the end of Oct. We loved the jerk chicken dishes and great prices. The food was very fresh. I typically dont' eat vegetables much but loved the seasonings. Our top restaurant choice in asheville for sure! more

I have been frequenting Nine Mile since they opened and love every time that I go. The service is always very friendly and down to earth, the prices are very reasonable, and the food and drink never dissapoint. Anytime friends or visitors ask for recomendation, this is the first on my list. more

This is a great place---a little hole in the wall, but cozy and serves terrific food. VERY reasonably priced and a lot of food (could easily share an entree between two if you don't want to take home left-overs). I ate my left-over Jamaican Jerk Rainbow Trout for breakfast the next morning. Yummy! Don't miss this place! more

my hubby & i went to nine mile after a few days in the great smoky mountains & we were driving home. we stopped for lunch & really enjoyed the atmosphere & food! the vegetarian choices were many! we would definitely recommend the place or go back again! i even loved dessert! more
