Food was good

Service was not good, but the food was very good. I asked for lemon for my water 3 times and never got it. Tons of food. Hostess was rude. Restaurant needs to be cleaner. Our chef was funny. Overall a good experience.

My kiddos love Ichiban! The "show" of cooking your food right in front of you always entertains. The food is great and the service is good. My suggestion, try to get there before 6 for early bird prices...especially if you have a large group!

We had the chance to eat sushi "in" and it was very good. An added bonus, our godson loved the fish tank. But even better was when we ordered Hibachi via Valet Gourmet. Steak and shrimp was excellent!! If you want really good Japanese in Asheville, this is a great stop or stay home and have it brought to you!!

We went to this restaurant on a Monday evening, and were the only people in the hibachi section. The service was very slow. I was disappointed in only 2 salad dressing selections and did not get to eat very much of it as a result. The soup was okay. The chef was decent, but the food was average overall. Nothing... More

This is just your typical Japanese restaurant with the chefs showing their "magic with knives" around a large semi-circle. The food was bountiful and tasty but the noise level was so loud we could hardly hear one another. As another person mentioned, the ginger dressing was nasty and the salad benign. Service was slow and unresponsive but it was busy.... More

What I like most about Ichiban is that they are consistent. The sushi is always fresh, beautiful and delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful, for real. It seems like everyone there goes out of their way to make you happy and do little things to make you feel like they care. They are kind and patient with children, teenagers,... More

The staff here are quite nice. They had gluten free soy sauce, which is unusual, and they were very gracious about it when we asked. They made a very festive presentation, using a martini glass with a light in it and strands of clear plastic that looked like a waterfall, in the middle of the plate with the rolls, sushi,... More

Slow service from bryan. Food was just ok. Ginger dressing just gross and sweet. Sushi was grocery store quality. Food was average at best. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY

I've eaten at several Ichiban locations, and while a chain, they do vary in quality of food and service. This one had good service the day I visited. (I've been here before, but it was years ago.) I ordered two inexpensive simple sushi rolls plus soup and salad. The salad was as good as it could be when you get... More

I have been at HIbachis in many cities but I always like this one. The food is very good, not overly salty or buttery, and the hospitality is lovely. Also, priced about 10% less than Benihana. Strongly recommended if you want the hibachi family setting.
