We took our friends there for some down home southern cooking for breakfast as we were traveling and they were very impressed. They could not believe the biscuits they served and the apple butter is out of this world delicious....YUM! All I can say is if you go there for breakfast and they got the all you could eat{ I... The "all you can eat" breakfast includes scrambled eggs, hash brown casserole, grits, bacon, biscuits and gravy and fresh fruit. (Cantaloupe). It's cheaper to do that than some of the other menu items. One plate was enough for me. My husband ordered seconds for eggs, grits and casserole but couldn't finish them. (Don't worry, I scolded him ;) ) I... More

This is a great place for home cooking, southern style. The portions are large and tastey. The Apple butter is homemade and chuncky. Worth taking a jar home for later. In the winter when the leaves are off the trees you can see the biltmore Estate. So great food and fast service.

I wish I can have that chicken again!! The service wasn't excellent but was ok. The food we had was great. Will be back once we are back on North Carolina.

The food here is really good, but i wish the servers were friendlier and kept drinks refilled better. I had to ask for more tea and at 2.29 for a glass of tea, I wanted a few refills! Their prices have gone up a lot which I expected since they had remodeled. The place looks nice and the food is... More

My husband and I love to break up road trips with a stop off I-40 here. I love the chicken and dumplings but we've never been disappointed or left hungry. And get a box of fried chicken to go; it's so good we can't pass it up and it keeps well in the cooler. They get crowded at peak mealtimes... More

We had a very good experience here. Our server was attentive and polite. I had the country style steak and mashed potatoes, with fried okra and sweet potato casserole. I would have given them a 5 but the sweet potato casserole was not very good-almost sickening sweet. The rest of the food was good, esp. the biscuits and cornbread. My... More

A pretty good family place. It reminded me of a local Cracker Barrel. Just basic home cooking. Reviews said everything is fresh and local but we didn't think so. I had the Southern Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes and collards. The collards were the best part of the whole meal. My chicken was good. Mashed potatoes tasted instant. Hubby had... More

Best southern comfort food. Found this gem on our way home from Cherokee. Our tummies were very happy. Can't wait to go back.
