Steaks, burgers and drinks. It is now called something else (not the Trough). Probably won't survive because the crowd we travel with wasn't impressed and went to other places to eat during the five days we were there, which isn't the norm for this yearly event.

We didn't actually eat here. We were going to but the wait was over 40 minutes and the prices were pretty expensive. Cheapest thing on menu $15 on up to $35ish. Too rich for my blood. Sorry

This was a phenomenal steak & seafood restaurant. Sadly, it has closed. The steakhouse which has replaced it (Double Dave's) has decent food but is, in my opinion, not worth the prices they charge.

We ate here at the recommendation of our motel owner. He told us about the two for one prime rib dinner which is not shown on the menu. You have to ask for it. It was an absolutely outstanding meal. The portion was generous and cooked just right. If you're looking for a really nice prime rib meal in Gunnison... More

We tried the Trough on the recommendation of our motel. We were more than pleased. They offer a prime rib special - 2 for $25 - from 4 to 6.30. We happened to be there in time, so we tried it. Excellent. Not over-cooked (we like medium rare). Came with a good salad, baked potato etc. It was a good... More

I just called to make reservations for our group for the end of September and was told they are closing permanently on September 15, 2013. We've enjoyed several years of gatherings and laughter at this restaurant as well as good food and service.

The steak was supposed to be fabulous, and we couldn't wait to try it. I was just like the steak back east, nothing special (but pricey). The trout was so covered with almonds that you couldn't taste the fish, which was perhaps the goal. The dining room is pretty dark, but my trout looked pink, and I thought they'd made... More

Prime rib was very good and we like to split a dinner and they were very accomodating. Good prices too.

We stayed at the Rodeway Inn just down the road (another good find). My boyfriend ordered prime rib which was excellent. I had the house special which was a New York steak--which was also excellent. Rustic, woodsy interior that works surprising well. Good wait staff. We will be back.

Excellent restaurant with a beautiful indoor setting. Quiet and peaceful. Service was outstanding with prompt attention by several waitresses. The food was the best with a generous salad and plenty of vegetables in addition. I had ribs and they were very good. The menu offered many options. Price was very reasonable for this level of quality. We will be back.
