It's not much to look at and the seats have rips in them but the food is tasty and the coffee is hot. Both my husband and I ordered the huevos with pork green chile with a side of potatoes. It was delicious and well prepared. The service was kind and friendly and they knew the locals by 1st name.... More

We found ourselves in Gunnison recently during a drive across Colorado and for a stop to more or less "stretch our legs" in the middle of a long day's drive, we parked in the wide-streeted downtown area and strolled around a bit. After a few minutes, we came upon the W Cafe and popped in for a coffee. Well, after... More

I had driven from Denver to Gunnison for a meeting. I travelled early and couldn't find a decent breakfast spot on the way. When I got to Gunnison, I found this place. It took me back to my happiest visits to the high country through the last three decades - local, comfortable, used by locals, friendliness and great food. Boy,... More

A group of us were traveling home to Denver from Montrose. We knew we wanted our meal in Gunnison but didn't have a lead on a place. We stumbled on the W as we cruised the downtown streets and we're so glad that we did. I noticed the People's Choice annual awards from about 2003 forward behind the register. We... More

We had breakfast here - biscuits and gravy although it really should called biscuit and gravy. Plural are additional $$$. Our waitress was not very friendly and didn't seem to like be questioned about the menu. Overall it was pretty vanilla but hey it was breakfast.

Have been coming to the W for many many years. My grandparents used to bring me when I was a teenage and I'm on past six eecades. I don't think they have changed anything except the waitresses. Great comfort food in a quaint down home cafe, frequented by locals. The entire menu is available all day. If you enjoy local... More

I am talking about real blueberries about 1/2" in diameter filled throughout a pancake that is drooping over the sides of the plate. So good, had breakfast at this place 3 days in a row! Friendly service each time with different wait staff. Yes the other breakfast items, bacon and eggs, were good too.

I am a biscuit snob and my husband is a French Toast super fan. W scored a ten on both these items. Staff was friendly. Good size portions. Locals do eat here so you might have a short wait but the staff turns an empty table around quickly.

Average food wih generous portions friendly staff and interior from your grandmas house. This place is a little hole-in-the-wall Dinner but it's great for breakfast. Just avoid the large wait on weekend mornings.
