Great view

The view in the restaurant is spectacular. The food was good. We had dinner and breakfast here and were fine with both meals. We had the breakfast bar which will fill you up easily. There is also a bar if you would like to gather before your meal. It is crowded so plan accordingly.

As far away as this place is from civilization, it is amazing to be treated to fare of this quality. You have to travel 45 minutes to the Starlight in Terlingua to get comparable food. Breakfasts are worth waking up for. You have three options: (1) the full breakfast buffet, which varies from day to day, (2) the hot cereal... More

The menu was varied with many healthy and tasty choices. As good as the food was, however, the view of the Chisos Mountains was even better. We took our iced teas after lunch onto the deck and just sat and looked at the views for a while- a wonderful respite.

Given the isolation of the place, we expected the food to be overpriced and possibly not much good, but we were wrong on both counts. Prices were more than reasonable and the hearty food was surprisingly good. (The breakfast buffet was outstanding.) The view from the dining room is stunning. Especially notable was the delightful young staff, uniformly cheerful and... More

But the food is poorly prepared and unimaginative. The sour cream comes in packages. If you like very strong coffee, you will love their coffee. The view and staff does make up for poor food.

We were staying at the Chisos Mountain Lodge overnight. Of course, this being the only restaurant in the park we had no other choice but to eat dinner here. We were very pleasantly surprised at the value of the food, the selections and of course, the taste! Both my husband and I had Bison Burgers on a wonderful multi-grain bun.... More

There literally was nothing we disliked - great, friendly service, GM Danny Ferguson was beyond helpful, glass walls to provide continuous views....and the food was perfectly prepared and mostly made on premise. For such a secluded place and the only restaurant in the whole park, it was amazing.

The restaurant and patio begin to fill up an hour before sunset. Arrive early and stake your claim on unobstructed viewing. Or, take a chance like we did. We arrived about 15 minutes before sunset. The restaurant was full. We found a place to sit outside and ate dinner after the sun set. The food was excellent. We had desert... More

The selections were excellent and our waiters on all three nights were very helpful in their recommendations on options. The food was well prepared and the servings were ample.

This is the only restaurant in the basin, but they try hard to serve quality food. As with many national parks concessions, the waiters are from all over and all ours were very good. The view from the dining room is awesome.
