Meal with a view

The food was very good with a spectacular view. Dinner was good. The breakfast buffet was even better with a very nice selection. Overall this is a very nice place to eat, remembering that eating out is not the principal reason for being in the Chisos Basin.

This is a great location with great views but just average or less than average food. The service was less than average.

the only food for at least 25 miles, it is not bad but it is not good. It does the trick if you are hungry. do nott expect a culinary experience . The views from the restaurant are stunning, and there is a cocktail menu. The staff is friendly and efficient. avoid the buffets and stick to the menu

One is not in Big Bend NP expecting great food, let's face it. The food is adequate, a little overpriced, but "they gotcha." You are miles from a dining experience. Yet, the view at sunset along the Window Trail is a must see! Recommendations: we had the all your can eat soup and salad buffet for dinner which was pretty... More

We've had experience with national park restaurants before and the food is usually mediocre and bland so for our trip to Big Bend we mostly brought our own food. For a change of pace we decided to have dinner here one night. We were quite pleased by the food. The burgers were tasty and inventive. The other options looked interesting... More

The lodge restaurant food is just okay - pretty decent salad bar, good soups, entrees mostly just fair. But the location and views are great and the staff very helpful.

Chicos Mountain Lodge Restaurant is at best mediocre, but it’s the only place in the park to get a meal. Our waiter was wonderful. When I asked him about some of the selections, he gave me an honest opinion and made other suggestions. He also said most of the food comes in frozen and is heated or recooked in the... More

Although this was the only place to eat, it was good. They had lots of choices and the prices were not too bad. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the service was good.

They could easily gouge you or take advantage of being the only restaurant within a 2-hour drive but they DON'T! Reasonable prices, good food and very friendly staff. Crowded during Spring Break so be prepared to wait if going that time of year.
