The evening meal is an event - the morning meal a buffet that was okay.

Two meals with two different personalities. The evening meal was very crowded with excellent food and great service, Breakfast was a buffet in plastic warming containers where it was difficult to get the wait staff to bring coffee, but the daylight view from the dining room was spectacular.

You have to remember that you are in the middle of nowhere, so you are not going to get a gourmet experience. The prices are OK, but certainly not a bargain. The food is decent, but nothing special.

A great place to stop and eat breakfast, lunch or dinner; especially when staying in Big Bend National Park. The views are spectacular; you are deep within the Chisos Mountain Range. Well run restaurant with a great salad bar and other great foods.

All the way out here in the Chisos...I am more than impressed to find a restaurant that focuses on providing organic and local foods. It paid off, because the flavor in everything I ate was far beyond what I expected. Hats off to them for abandoning unhealthy cooking oils too. Very few places, even in the city, lay that out... Food is great. They have something for everyone. I had the soup and salad bar, very affordable. My friends had the elk stew and they said it was delicious. And the view from the restaurant is amazing.

Our room wasn't yet ready when we first got there, so we were delighted to discover a bar inside the restaurant. We grabbed a couple of drinks and sat our on the patio. I highly recommend their top shelf margarita. The restaurant, on the other hand, is a little lackluster. Over the course of the weekend we had a dinner,... More

It takes a lot of work and money to get fresh food to Chisos Mountains, but they do it and do it well. There's always a fresh salad bar and a fresh vegetable offering with dinner. The menu offers pork, burgers, tacos/burritos, salad, soup, fish, steak. The food is well prepared and the service friendly. But after three days, your... More

We stopped here while riding through Big Bend. Cute gift shop and a very nice restaurant. We did not eat, but it was very nice. This is a beautiful spot inside Big Bend Park. With the elevation it is very cool and an enjoyable stop.

Without having much of a reason to have such expectations, my wife and I were not expecting anything other than (at best) average food at the concession-run NPS Big Bend Chisos Restaruant. Well, we were very pleasantly surprised. No, it is not so-called upscale fine dining, but the food was tasty, well prepared, well-presented, well-served, and also reasonably priced...particularly given... More
