The genisis of Airport Pizza harkes back to the days when you could call in from towns far from Nome, and get your pizza flown out to you for free. It is certainly a good way to while away an afternoon in Nome. The Pizza is good and there are lots of other standards on the menu. The staff is... More

We ate at Airport Pizza for dinner both nights we were in Nome. The first night we had some very good beer and some excellent fresh halibut pieces in a delicious batter. We had already tried Alaskan Halibut in numerous Gourmet type restaurants before this and this was by far the best. The next night we had more halibut and... More

Airport pizza has a fairly typical menu for small northern Alaskan towns. You can get burgers, fish, pasta and so on. They did have calzones, which isn't something you see everywhere. In the evening the place was packed--it appears to be the go to restaurant in town. The food was very good, though the service was quite slow. rumor has... More

Who would have thought you'd get fantastic NY style pizza in Nome? Restaurant is kind of a dive, and not fancy by any means. But the folks are welcoming and the food is great.

We were ushered to sit at a table. Given water and a menu. If it wasn't for the water I would have left w no service. Then sat at waited for about 10 to 15 min before our order was taken. Ordered pizza and a smoothie. Waited another 15 min for the smoothie. Dinner was okay. Waited for a while... More

In my opinion, the best restaurant in Nome. Wide variety of selections in spite of the name. Friendly wait staff and food is generally very good and large portions. Depending on staffing, the wait can be a little long at times. Definitely worth checking out while in Nome.

We treated our hosts and ourselves to dinner "out" by ordering take out pizza on our last night in Nome. When I arrived to pick up our order the veggie pizza was ready as ordered, but the final cost was over $12.00 more than the quoted price on the menu we had picked up. The woman at the register, who... More

Who would expect to find pizza this good in Nome? But it's really great. The crust is just right, and they have a variety of traditional and non-traditional pizzas that are excellent. My favorite might be the baked potato pizza. I get it without sour cream, but that's just me. It's got slices of baked potato, bacon, cheese, and I'm... More

We ate dinner at the Airport Pizza restaurant and had a fabulous dinner meal. The owner, Bill, was there so we talked with him for a while and he had the crew bring us a complimentary plate of 2 large battered and fried pieces of halibut. It was fabulous so we ordered a basket of battered and fried halibut and... More
