The place is nice and maybe the best option in Los Alamos (really small town with even smaller restaurant options!) but food was just average: I ordered the Pork Tenderloin that was very tender but tasteless... no salt, no nothing. My wife ordered the 8oz. Filet Mignon and was not bad... but could be much better for the price ($28.50).... More

Worth the stop for a good lunch. The service is good quality with courteous waiters/ waitresses. Atmosphere is pleasant and usually crowded at lunch time so a reservation could be worth it.

The Blue Window Bistro has the best food in Los Alamos (at least for dinner), but Los Alamos is not a town known for its great restaurants. If you want a true fine dinning experience, head to Santa Fe. Nonetheless, the food at the Blue Window is well prepared, and they have some interesting options. The daily salmon special is... More

I have eaten here twice, now. Both times at lunch. And come away both times disappointed. Today was the worst. I ordered the chopped salad with chicken. The salad was nothing but chopped lettuce. No other veggies or toppings. Well, except the drired out, tasteless chicken. And the salad was served to me without dressing. The ONLY reason this place... More

Salmon tacos in bluecorn flour soft shells with orange habanero sauce had great flavor. 3 in our group had the blue corn enchiladas: 1 with spinach, 1 with chicken, and 1 with beef. All said they were good and the green chile is not spicy but added flavor. One also had the surf and turf tacos with shrimp and sliced... More

I had the spinach enchiladas with red and green chile (aka "Christmas" in these parts, which was not the best part of the meal. I enjoyed the roasted beet salad more, and the tiramisu was outstanding. Nice herbal tea in a press pot too. My companion had the fish and chips which was not the best part of his meal... More

The Blue Window, aka "the bistro," is the most consistently tasty place to eat in our little town. Owner Melissa Paternoster pays close attention to both customer service and menu items, and she's doing a good job. The salmon over a salad is a lovely lunch, and the steak frittes salad is another good choice. Heirloom caprese salad, pork osso... More

We were recommended to go there and it was NOT a disappointment. The food was tasty and service was friendly and considerate. Hours are a bit tight. I recommend!

I am the co-owner of a B&B in Jemez Spring, NM. We have had many guests tell us that they had eaten at the Blue Window and were very happy with the experience. While in Los Alamos for a quick trip to the grocery store, my wife and I went in for lunch. The place was packed as we arrived... More

Los Alamos has plenty of places to eat, some of them quite good, but this is currently the only real place in town where one can "dine" rather than just eating. The ambience, staff, kitchen and menu are all well suited for staying a while, enjoying something from the solid wine list, and talking with friends while waiting for something... More
