The breakfast choices range from traditional to burritos. I went traditional. The only complaint is that frozen potatoes were used for the hash browns. The tends to run contrary to much of the other food. I was troubled by all the Cowboy displays. But that is personal and not appropriate to consider, but be warned. It is interesting that virtually... More

I've eaten here a few times and each time I have enjoyed the food. It tastes great and arrives to the table hot. The staff are friendly and attentive. It's a great place for lunches.

My first exposure to New Mexican cuisine came from the legendary Viola herself, almost 40 years ago, and although she has passed on, her heirs have done a fine job of honoring her memory here. The fare is standard New Mexican -- enchiladas, burritos, sopaipillas on the side, etc. -- and reliably good, although not really great. (This is a... More

That's it... the best breakfast burrito and the green chile sauce is on top, not chopped green chile inside... just the best...

If you want a restaurant that locals pack everyday, this is the place. Great food that we love to eat. It basic New Mexico Mexican food. I always get the Red Chili Beef Enchilada with Posole. Most locals don't need a menu because we all have a favorite standard. This is a must visit restaurant - but remember it is... More

Different Mexican food than I am used to in Roswell, NM but oh so plentiful and delicious. Quite busy at lunch time but then the locals love it too! Would go again.

Violas is charming for its down-to-earth lack of attitude and delivering on the basics. Small, family run, very pleasant staff. The food is straight down the middle. Basically northern new mexico diner food. Nothing I have had here yet screams OMG, To Die For, but if you order a burger, you'll get a burger. Order enchiladas, you'll get enchiladas. You... More

We were actually looking for a different restaurant but got turned around and happened to find Viola's - turns out it was a lucky break. There's nothing fancy about this place, but the food was exceptional. Everything was fresh and tasted like what you'd expect to get from your grandma's house, if your grandma made excellent New Mexican dishes. Loved... More
