The other reviewers are exactly right--this place is a "find"!

It doesn't look like much, located in a strip mall it is a little shopworn, but the Persian food here was nothing short of spectacular! The don't have wine (wish I had known you can bring your own) but the ice tea was flavored with something that had to be very special. The shirin polo rice with... read more

The staff is amazing. They treat everyone like they are special, and one of the family. A lovely experience.

Amoo's is authentic Persian at its best. Superb, high quality ingredients. Owned by a warm and welcoming family. Creations range from traditional kabab koobideh to wild-caught seafood dishes, such as Chef Seb's sea bass kabab with lime and exotic Middle East spices. Ranked as one of Washington, D.C.'s favorite restaurants. We visit often.

A neighbor recommended this place and I am happy to say the food was excellent. This review is based upon one visit at lunchtime. I look forward to returning to try a fish special. The menu confused me a little, as it suggested that I may substitute white rice for the house salad. My server said that rice came with... More

My wife and I have eaten here numerous times, and have taken quite a few family and friends as well. Amoos' has never disappointed, and everything we have tried has always been excellent. The lamb shank is a definite must try and our usual go-to. The saffron rice is superb. Our other favorites are the Zereshk Polo (a chicken kabob... More

This was my second visit and I had a delicious lamb dish with rice, which is the same I had on my first visit. I order lamb in many restaurants and also grill it I home and this is the best I have ever had. Next time I go I may order something else. They do not have a liquor... More

Small place with perfect use of Persian flavors. The sautéed eggplant dip is very tasty and silky in texture. I also tasted the yoghurt with sliced fresh cucumbers with the restaurant's homemade pita. For main entree I had the special: braised thinly sliced bison seasoned with Iranian spices and served with basmati yellow rice with dried fruit and saffron. I... More

We had a group of 12 people at the restaurant. The service was wonderful, the food was amazing. We loved the lamb shank stew on crispy rice for appetizer. The juice on from the lamb soften the baked crispy rice and yet still had a nice crunch to it. Our big group went with the family style dinner, they can... More

Not a place to sit and eat. Terrific for take out either home or nearby hotels. Highly recommend. Very small simple place that is very popular among locals.
