Great sushi, long wait

I was surprised to find a good sushi restaurant in Moab, but the sushi was great and reasonably priced. My husband and I had a specialty roll (the Maze) seaweed salad and some nigiri--all excellent. Only downside--wait to be seated was long and wait for the sushi even longer. Our waitress brought... read more

Don't be put off by Moab's lack of proximity to an ocean. Sabaku offers fabulous fresh fish, creative chefs and great staff. This place rivals and often surpasses sushi I've had in the Bay Area. This is a small restaurant, so be prepared for a wait on busy nights.

I eat Sushi but it is not my favorite food. Sabaku Sushi is the exception to the rule. It tasts great but unfortunately our vacation in Moab is over. Sabaku Sushi has surprising and tasty Sushi combinations. Prices are however high.

We were only traveling through Moab and we were looking for a place to eat dinner. We found the perfect spot for us. The salmon dish was delicious and the noodle dish was also very good. We ordered a salad with a ginger vinaigrette and it was the best I have had, nicely spiced! The waitstaff were pleasant and prompt.... More

Wasn't expecting good sushi in Moab - nice surprise! Flavorful miso soup, Elk Tataki was interesting but sauce on greens had too much garlic. Grilled Tri-Tip was local grown with wonderful flavor. Maki Sushi was tasty and sashimi was tender. Service was friendly. A nice casual upbeat experience.

My husband and I stopped in for dinner. We were immediately greeted by the host and brought cool waters with cucumber. Our server was very friendly and had great sushi suggestions based on our tastes. She kept our water glasses full which was much appreciated after a long day of hiking. The menu has a ton of great, unique items... More

To be honest, I don't eat raw fish, but the food I got was very good. My boyfriend, who got the sushi, loved it. He had tuna, and said it was the best he ever had. I'm not sure what type of tuna it was. He also had octopus, and it blew him away. I'm very happy he loved it... More

Okay I'm a New Yorker...well, a Brooklynite anyway but I didn't expect to find sushi this fresh and creatively prepared in the arid west of the country but yes ! We were told not to miss it and were prepared to have low expectations but were thrilled to taste these dishes. The salad had a unique yet Japanese style dressing....the... More

I was skeptical that there could be fresh and delicious sushi in the remote Utah desert town of Moab. The place was packed at 6pm on a weekday, and for good reason: the sushi is great!. Fish is fresh and delicious and there is a wide selection of creative maki (rolls) that mix wonderful combinations of flavors. There are selections... More

Surprisingly good and authentic sushi in the middle of Moab, Utah! The regional specialties for the US are here, as well as alternatives for those who don't want the sushi experience. One of the better locations to get some good Japanese food in a larger area!
